EXPERIENCE

2014 Instituto Brasileiro de Defesa do Consumidor (IDEC) Brazilian NGO

Trainee in the Legal deparment of IDEC (Brazilian Institute of Consumers Defense) is
the one of the most active Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO) in Brazil focusing on
consumer protection. In 2010, the Brazilian government adopted a macro-economic policy
of adjusting the value of the Brazilian Reals to maintain the rate of inflation. However, the
correct indexation was not adopted by the main Brazilian banks which led to significant
losses for savers and investors. IDEC took legal action against those banks to firstly
compensate for the losses incurred and further, to enhance long-term consumer protection.
My main duties included: Monitoring of the lawsuit, drafting of motions, advising and
assisting others departments in respect of consumer protection.

2012 - 2013 Lobo & de Rizzo Advogados Brazilian Law Firm

Trainee at the Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) department.
Lobo & de Rizzo Advogados is one of Brazils leading law firms in the M&A area. Its
corporate department has been recognised in the corporate arena for its highly successful
work on complex transactions involving companies of different sizes and in a wide variety of
business segments. I was heavily involved in the due diligence process of the merger of
Cokes Brazilian bottlers.
Main duties included: Preparation of due diligence, corporate counseling, drafting of
corporate documents (i.e. by-laws, articles of association, shareholders agreement, shares
purchase agreement), analysis of Jurisprudence.

2011-2012 S.I.N Sistema de Implante Nacional S.A. Brazilian Company

Trainee in the Legal deparment.
This was my first trainee position which provided me the knowledge of the practical
applications of business law, which was supported by the theoretical learnings from the law
degree I was studying towards at the time.
My main duties included: Analysis and drafting of agreements (e.g purchase agreements,
lease agreements, intelectual property) and legal counseling to the others departments of
the company.

EDUCATION

University of So Paulo (USP): Law, 2010-July 2015.

USP is the higest ranked law university in Brazil where I have undertaken a 5 year law degree
course. So far, I have obtained all the credits required to successfully complete the degree
programme and graduate in July 2015. Some modules studied include: Dispute Settlement,
Labour Procedural law, Criminal Procedure, Jurisdictional protection of the transindividual
rights, Tax law, Bankruptcy Law, International Law, Consumer Law and International Trade law.

I also spent one semester in Salamanca University in Spain where I had the opportunity to
greatly deepen my understanding and knowledge of EU law in its many legal aspects. Further, I
had the chance to learn about the different approaches to the interpretation of and application
of law, which has provided me with a broader understanding of the legal system.
