System Description:
The biCOM compact treatment plant provides a complete
wastewater solution, from raw water influent screening through to
final effluent outlet.
Biological sludge formed during the purification process is oxidised The aeration and anoxic zones are arranged as an annular circuit
to such an extent that the small quantity produced is stable and can surrounding a central settlement tank. This arrangement
be easily processed without odour. considerably reduces the space requirement of the plant.
Sludge is held within the integral sludge holding tank and disposed Oxidation within the system is carried out by means of fine bubble
of via the integral sludge feed pumps or tanker facilities with the diffusion and the energy consumption is optimised by the use of
minimum of nuisance. automatic dissolved oxygen control. This provides the necessary
oxygen for the activated sludge and maintains flow velocity in the
plant thus preventing settlement. It also serves to break up larger
solid particles and ensures complete mixing of the liquor. The design
is standardised for a range of population equivalents 2,500 to
20,000 but can be easily increased up to 40,000. Glass fused to
steel* is used for the main process tanks ensuring rapid installation,
high quality, aesthetically pleasing appearance, long life span and
low maintenance.
