Reflection

First thing first in this reflection I want to give my overall view on what this class has

done for me. This class at the beginning I thought I was going to have trouble in learning the

information and applying it to my writing. That was not the case I worked my hardest and did

very well better than I thought and this class caused a lot of stress but I learned to be a better

writer out of it. The first project that I want to talk about in this reflection is the first major paper

we did which was the rhetorical analysis paper. The reason I want to talk about this paper is that I

have made improvements to it that will make it look a lot better. What I did to improve the paper

was I italicized titles of articles that I used to conduct my research also I changed words that may

be considered slang to a more universal word like students instead of kids. I also explained what

PISA in my essay was and changed the abbreviation into the whole thing which was Programme

for International Student Assessment. What I also changed was simple grammar mistakes and

cited. The last two major thing that I changed and would like you to look at was I explained what

pre-K-12 is and in one part in my essay I did not give evidence to an in-Don Perkins article so I

went back and retrieved the evidence that showed my point in that particular section of my essay.

This relates to my writing by going back and making changes to it to improve my writing in the

future. I also made some grammar and citing changes to my roundtable essay which I did very

well on.
The second project in my portfolio that I would like to discuss why I it relates to my writing is

my blogs what I would like to talk about is not revising it, it is the way I used my skills of

research and the way that I used the information to help assist me in my papers throughout the

semester. I did very well on these blogs and while doing them they gave me better insight on my

line of inquiry and helped me learn how to research throughout the semester. This relates to my

writing because the information and skills of research helped me better myself as a writer

overall. Now I would like to discuss one other thing which was my daybook entries the reason

that I put this in my e-portfolio is I would like you to see the progress that I made throughout the

semester. What I put in this part of my e-portfolio was a daybook assignment from the beginning,

middle, and end and this relates to my writing by showing how I improved this semester.

The las two projects that I would like to discuss in this reflection are the slam poem and the

word cloud. The reason that I put these two projects in here was that not everything in English

revolved around papers it also had some creativity towards it and that is why I think this relates

to my improvement on writing. With these two projects I was able to use the research that I have

learned and create something fun out of it and that is why I used this in my e-portfolio it shows

my understanding of my topic and it shows that I can emphasize it in another way rather than a

paper.
