HOMA2 Calculator functions

The functions available in this worksheet are:

HOMA2_Insulin(Glu,Ins)
HOMA2_SpecificInsulin(Glu,Specins)
HOMA2_Cpeptide(Glu,CPep)

Each function takes two parameters as shown and returns an array containing the calculated values of
and IR
For example, HOMA2_Insulin(Glu,Ins) requires two cells with Glucose and Insulin values respectively.

HOMA2 Calculator ranges and units

Acceptable steady state glucose and peptide input values are:
Glucose : 3.0 to 25.0 mmol/L
Insulin : 20 to 400 pmol/L
Specific insulin : 20 to 300 pmol/L
C-peptide : 0.2 to 3.5 nmol/L

N.B. Glucose and peptide values measured in other units must be converted to the units above before

Examples
The three attached worksheets illustrate the use of the HOMA2 Calculator
Each sheet has a worked example, with a further 9 rows prefilled with the array function
Enter glucose values in Column A and corresponding peptide values in Column B
Calculated values of %B, %S and IR appear in columns C, D and E respectively

The array function formula may be copied to further rows as required

For example to copy the formula into rows 11 to 20
Highlight cells C2, D2 and E2
Select copy from the Edit menu
Highlight cells C11 to E20
Select paste from the Edit menu
Alternatively, the functions can be added directly by highlighting two adjacent cells in one or more rows
the "Function" command from the Insert menu. The HOMA2 Calculator functions will be found in the
category: User Defined
