The long awaited equipment needed to complete connections to the previously installed speakers
has been purchased. St. George Lodge #33 would like to thank Silver Reef Chapter of the O.E.S.
for their contribution of funds raised at special events which they hosted. We would also like to
send out thanks to Brothers Jon Sale and Peter Brown for their contribution of installing this
equipment. We know it will be of benefit to all. It includes both microphones

It is with great pride that we can announce that our newly raised Masonic Brother Adam Whalen has been
accepted for a special assignment in the U.S. Navy. Brother Adam has left Utah and returned to share the
holidays with his old friends and family in California before reporting first to Chicago and then to
Pensacola, Florida for basic training.
He is an exceptional man and Mason and no doubt will serve with patriotism and honor in defense of our
country. We will, no doubt, miss his engaging smile and unique personality, but know the Navy hit the
jackpot when he signed his enlistment papers with them!
This is the MOST IMPORTANT night of the year for our Lodge.
We hope you will be able to join us for these events.

There is no doubt that our Lodge has much to be appreciative of when looking back at this year which is too
fast drawing to a close. Weve enjoyed some wonderful events including our annual Valentines Day dinner,
the hosting of a luncheon with the Veterans Home in Ivans, a moving retirement ceremony of our American
flag presented by the local Boy Scouts and the First Freedom musical at Brighams Playhouse to mention a
few.
Our monthly Meet Up Meetings have been very well received and as a result of their success, has introduced our Lodge to
some very worthy men who have subsequently Petitioned for Degrees or Affiliation. The question raised in this column,is our
Lodge all it can be? I can enthusiastically answer yes in many ways, but there is still much more that we as Masons can
do. For one we need to be more involved in our communities and charitable causes. Thats very basic to the teachings of our
Fraternity. I also believe that the Child I.D. Program is of great importance and should not be given up on, even though we
have had difficulty in moving it forward.
Our greatest shortcoming right now is having too few of our Brothers stepping up to take roles in on our Masonic Ritual
Degrees. As one who has been very involved in this aspect, I can attest to how rewarding it is to participate in the various
ceremonies.
There are many entry level roles which require very little (if any) memorization. We also need to fill parts that are more
substantial which, if delivered effectively, can enrich the memorable life-long experiences of those being initiated.
At present we are approaching nearly a dozen potential candidates or Brothers going through the three Masonic Degrees.
These cannot be accomplished to our best potential or in a timely manner if required parts are not filled. So to any of our
veteran or newly obligated Brother Masons; your support is badly needed and I hope we will be able to be all we can be in
our Masonic Ritual
I am proud and very honored (every day of my life) to have been given the opportunity of playing a
leadership role in our Masonic Fraternity. When my own journey is over, I hope that I can leave this
wonderful Lodge and Masonry alive, well, as rewarding and fulfilling as my own journey has been.
