Dear Principal ,

I am writing to express my interest in the Early Childhood Teaching position that was
recently listed. Being at your school will give me the opportunity to provide you with
collaboration skills to work with families and other staff members, leadership skills,
a student-centered learning approach, and to build a faith filled community.
In May of 2017, I anticipate having a completed degree of K-6 Elementary
Education, Early Childhood Education, Instructional Strategist K-8, and Mathematics
K-6 from Loras College. Additionally, I have completed an online Dyslexia Training in
order to earn my Dyslexia Training certificate. Throughout my experience at Loras, I
have had many opportunities to practice and implement the Common Core
standards for the elementary level and the Gold Assessment for the pre-k level. I
was able to practice differentiated instruction, student-centered activities and
lessons, and multiple teaching strategies. I recently completed a nine week student
teaching placement at Epworth Elementary in a Pre-K classroom. I was able to work
with families by creating weekly newsletter and a Valentines Party. Additionally, I
collaboratively worked with the paraprofessionals in my room by creating lessons
and small groups that would best fit the needs of all students. Throughout my
experience I was able to know the needs of each student and their interests helped
me to create lessons that would engage them in their learning.
I believe that students should have a community in where they are able to grow
spiritually, emotionally, and academically. I know that I could be an excellent
addition to your team of educators. I believe in having students always trying their
best by building up a platform that leads students to success and to have the
students hold their own accountability in the classroom. I also believe that teachers
should adhere to the students need in order to help them to be successful in the
classroom.
