Part 2 Paraphrasing
1) While in order to decrease energy, companies should use more useful production
techniques. On the contrary, companies often sneak for more output by investing in
production process which can result in a method of producing great power.
2) Firstly, senior management should be more informed about tasks they need to complete.
Secondly, the budgets for energy development projects often clash with a couple
departments. As a matter of fact there is an increase of costs in enforcement and of benefits
in operations. This means that incentives are not aligned. However, managers could be
discouraged by long term risks off its high energy use.
Our results also suggest that policies aimed on improving management practices such as
encouraging competition, reducing labour-market regulations and eliminating tax incentives
for family ownership could also be associated with improved environmental outcomes. 5
One example supporting this concept is the staggering energy inefficiency of the (old) Soviet
block factories. These firms did not face product market competition, so had little incentive
economise on energy use. This could be particularly true in developing countries where
management practices and energy efficiency are often particularly poor.6
