Reflections on Observation Task 1: Differentiating
Centers
Read the questions below and write your answers

1. What are classroom learning centers?

Its a center can student work and practice what the teacher
teach them. There are many learning centers, as I observed
in my practice days at Sama American School in my class
were math center: they can work and develop the numbers
skills, measurement and shapes. Also, the English center:
they work on letters with sounds. In science: they develop
and work on the seasons of the year.

2. What is the purpose of classroom learning centers?

I think these centers may show to the teacher what are the
students levels and their abilities in different subjects. Also,
they can practice and develop their skills or make a review
on these centers.

3. What is the role of the students while engaged during

learning centers?
The learning centers are the most places in the class that
can students use their creativity to learn and enjoy. In
addition, students can test their self if they understand in
these centers.

4. What is the role of the teacher as the students are

engaged during learning centers?
The teacher has the important role while students engaged. She makes
different activities that based on the students abilities. Also, she is observing
them while they apply the activities.

5. Do you feel it is important to offer tasks that are

developmentally appropriate for all student ability
levels? Why / Why not?
In my opinion, I agree to students have these centers with different levels of
activities. Because of they have low, medium and high levels so their
abilities are different too. And as I did while Im teaching students I created
for each lesson three to four different activities and I tried to let students
moves and work on whole level activities. For example: I let the low level
students to work on their activity then move them to medium and high when
they done.
