Ms. XXXX,

My name is Meghan Roberts, and I am a student teacher working in XXXXs

British Literature class under the supervision of XXXX, who is ccd on this e-
mail.

I wanted to reach out to you today to inform you of my concerns about XXXXs
grade in this class. Although he actively listens and participates in class, he has
missed several homework assignments this semester. The missing homework is
adversely impacting his grade, and XXXX has dropped into the F range.

I wanted to update you about this situation before the class progressed too far
into the semester and XXXX was unable to make up for the lost work. I generally
post the homework to Edmodo in addition to giving both verbal and written
instructions during class time, but if there are other strategies that might help
XXXX to complete more assignments Id be more than happy to incorporate
them into our classroom routine.

As an additional reminder, the classs first formal quiz will be this Friday, March
3rd, and a mid-unit exam will be given within the next two weeks. I have after
school hours this Thursday from 2:00-3:00 if hed like to arrange to meet with
me to review some of the material he may have missed.

Thank You,
Meghan Roberts

Hi XXXX,

Just wanted to update you on a chat I had with XXXX earlier.

We began writing the senior papers for Brit lit and all of the students were given
graphic organizers on Friday that needed to be approved before they could begin
writing the paper. XXXX had his approved, and today in class asked me for
another graphic organizer to help him write the paper. I asked what struggles he
was having so I could find the best organizer for his situation and he said he
didnt know and that someone has always just given him one, and that he didnt
know what he would struggle with because hes never written a paper.

I eventually had him speak to XXXX who gave him an organizer, but I just
wanted to let you know about how were working to accommodate him.

Hi XXXX,

Just wanted to update you on a conversation I had with XXXX and his progress
moving forward on the Brit Lit paper. I asked to speak to him about his progress
on the paper and he expressed to me that he had been looking for new quotes for
the claim paragraphs. This seems to have been a misunderstanding, as he lost
points on the organizer for incorrect citations, not because he didnt have
appropriate quotes. I asked him what his next action steps would be and he told
me he would begin writing claim paragraph 1. At this time, his peers are on the
conclusion paragraph, so he will need to catch up on claim 1, claim 2, claim 3
(although this is ungraded and he will be independently responsible for it), a
counterclaim paragraph, the introduction paragraph (also ungraded), and the
conclusion. I asked if there were any additional supports I could offer to him and
he indicated that there were not any at this time.

Thanks!
Meghan Roberts
