Specialities for removing oily, fatly and waxy impurities and for washing
out spin finishes and water-soluble sizes.

In high concentrations, the products have an excellent stain-removing

effect.

 Kieralon® OL

Nature Mixture of non-tonic and anionic components

Storage Kieralon OL has a shall-life of two years.

Properties
Ionic behaviour Anionic

Appearance Pale yellow, transparent, pourable paste.

Solubility Readily soluble in warm water.

Stability Solutions of Kieralon OL, at the strengths commonly used, are stable to
hard water, acids and reduction or oxidation bleaching agents in the
concentration normally employed for textile fibres.

5 g/l of Kieralon OL are stable at 20 C in NaOH solutions of up to
o
10 BE (= 70 g/l of sodium hydroxide) without precipitation or separation.

Foam formation Foam height, (sodium oleate = 100%), with 2 g/l of Kieralon OL and water
o o
(DN 53 902) at 0 C hardness at 40 C after 1 minute : approx. 18%.

Application
Method of use Kieralon OL is particularly suitable for washing out fatly and oily impurities
and pigment soil. Because of its composition, the product is equally
suitable oruse in cold and hat liquors, this is a significant advantage for
Kieralon OL over non-ionic products. The low foam formation combined
with good wetting effect makes Kieralon OL a specially product with
outstanding efficiency.

Main fields of application Cellulosic fibres, alone and in blends with synthetics

− Removal of water-soluble sizes.

− Enzymatic desizing

− Peroxide cold-batch bleach

Synthetic fibres
− Removal of spin finishes
− Pre-washing of goods to be dyed or printed

− Removal of water-soluble sizes

− Oxidation and reduction bleaching

Wool and wool blends
− Washing of slubbing
− Washing of yarn and piece goods

− Stain removing

− Cleansing of wool, cellulosic or synthetic fabrics contaminated

with fat or wax.

Quantities to be used As Kieralon OL is usually employed as a specially for difficult cases, the
exact amount to be used is more closely linked to local conditions than is
the cases with other products.

The following amounts are suggested as a rough guide:

Padding processes : 3-6 g/l Kieralon OL
Application in long liquor : 0.5-2 g/l Kieraton OL

Stain-removng : Treat the goods locally with a 5-10% solution of Kieralon

OL.

Safety
We know of no ill effects resulting from the use of Kieralon OL for the
purpose for which it is intended and in accordance with current practice.
According to experience we have gained over many years and other
information available to us Kieralon OL has no harmful effects on health,
provided that it is used properly, with due attention to the precautions and
protective measures necessary when chemicals are handled and
observance of the information and advice given in our Safety Data Sheet.

Handing The products must not be allowed to enter the eyes. Avoid prolonged
contact with the skin. Goggles should be worn when working with the
undiluted products.
