FOR OTHERS?
Many fishermen in Kenya, near Lake Turkana access the lake with boats that are
poorly constructed making it hard for them to go to the interior regions that the
number of fish is plenty in supply. Furthermore lack of facilities such as fridges
that can be used in storing caught fish is a problem that is continually growing in
the area. Most fishermen lack the basic tools that can make fishing an easy task.
Capital is needed for the expansion of the fish farming industry though some
efforts have been made by the Kenyan government.
Because of technical expertise of NRG team, the NRG Commercial Solar Dryer
(CSD) for fish and seafood drying took only 1-2 days instead of the usual 5-8 days!
Traditionally Fish drying has been carried out by drying in open sun. This usually
takes about 5-8 days on an average depending on the type of fish with the
stumbling blocks of a longer duration, contamination by dust and other pollutants
and the improper hygiene, also the occurrence of the fish- odour.
This large scale 500 kg solar dryer runs completely on solar energy with even the
Blower (fan), Control panel and damper running on solar PV. The impressive Fish
Solar Dryer by NRGs is now saving their time of drying the fish in turn increasing
the production, saving the space to dry the fish, taking care of the hygiene by
protecting the fish from dust and insects thus improving the product quality which
is helping them fetch more than just few pennies. This is helping them increase
their livelihood, made it clean and green, and sustainable
So an awakening call from me goes to the Indian Government along with the
NGOs in India, What are we doing for the Indian fishermen, rather the people who
can be benefited with the resource we are blessed with? Are we really making use
of the most talent & technology in Indian industries like NRG Technologists
Private Ltd for the betterment of our Motherland?
At the conclusion, I am reframing my question, Life is the most persistent and the
urgent question is WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR IMPROVING OURSELVES
ALONG WITH THE OTHERS?
