1.1 General

This series of road roller is self-driving articulated vibrating road roller with single steel drum, belonging to
heavy duty full-hydraulic all-wheel drive vibrating compaction machine. With good compaction effect, deep
depth of influence and high production efficiency, it is suitable for ramming the roadbed and pavement
works constructed with various non-sticky materials, such as soil, gravel, sand-rock mixture, rock filling and
stabilized soil. It can be widely applied in roads, municipal works, airports, ports, wharfs, dikes and various
industrial construction sites. To meet the demand of the customer ramming the sticky material, projected
wheel hull and corresponding mud scraping boards are provided for this machine as options, for easy
on-site assembly.. Customers can order by directly contacting our company. This configuration is
particularly applicable for the compaction works of large foundation constructed in the materials with high
viscosity and high moisture, such as dams, ports, airports, and etc.

1.2 Frame

This machine consists of two units in the front and rear. The front unit is furnished with a front frame and
vibrating drum, which is an operating device of the road roller, while the rear unit, the main part of the road
roller, is equipped with running transmitter, rear wheel and console. The front and rear units are articulated
together.

1.3 Power and driving system

The figure of the driving system for this model of machine is shown as below. The hydraulic travel pump
and the hydraulic vibration pump are connected in series and driven directly by the diesel engine to provide
power for the hydraulic travel system and hydraulic vibration system respectively. The steering pump is
driven by the output shaft on the engine side to drive the steering system.

1.4 Diesel engine

This machine applies the Cummins 6BTA5.9 water-cooled, six-cylinder and four-stroke, direct injection
worm wheel intercooled diesel engine which is imported with the original packaging. While the machine is
operating, the oil transfer pump transfers the fuel of the fuel tank into the injection pump after filtering
through the filter; the fuel pressure is increased in the pump and oil is provided to the injector according to
different working conditions in order to complete the combustion process. The excess fuel oil supplied by
the high pressure fuel pipeline returns to the fuel tank through the fuel return pipe of the fuel filter. The fuel
delivery pump is installed with a hand pump which can be used to drain the air in the fuel pipe.

The engine is electrically started; its battery is charged by the alternator driven by the triangle belt on the
machine. The throttle control handle controls the rotating speed of the diesel engine through the flexible
shaft.

This engine is with great power and high power reserve coefficient; it is equipped with tri-filtering air filter
matched with alarm equipment, low temperature cold starter, pressurized water radiator and battery cell
with large capacity, so it is suitable to be applied in strong sand, wind, high altitude and cold areas.

USER MANUAL

1.5 Hydraulic travel system

The travel system consists of a closed hydrostatic drive system consisting of variable pump and variable
motor; the front wheel is propelled by the hydraulic motor through the planetary reducer, and the running
motor of the rear wheel is driven by the rear axle. The hydraulic motor applies electrical dual-emission
operation which can obtain four speed ranges. The hydraulic travel pump is manually controlled by variable
displacements and operated by one rod; by operating traveling handle, the direction can be changed so
that the road roller can change the speed continuously within the set range.

The road rollers operating brake can be realized through the locking function of the hydraulic driving
system. Move the traveling handle to the neutral position and then the roller will implement braking
operation. In the front and rear driving motor reducers, it is equipped with wet multiple disk brake which
applies the electro-hydraulic control and can be used for stop and emergency braking of the front and rear
wheels.

This machine has four speed ranges: the first gear is at the operating speed and the fourth gear is at the
transmission speed, this machine should only be applied to roads with good conditions. The second gear is
skidding gear of the front wheel, and the third gear is the skidding gear of the rear wheel.

1.6 Hydraulic vibration system

The hydraulic vibration system is hydrostatic driving system. The vibration pump drives the vibration motor
on the left side of the front and rear wheels to drive the vibration generator to start clockwise and
anticlockwise rotation, generating vibration from frequency and amplitude conversion. Generally, the high
amplitude is for roadbed compaction, while the low amplitude is for pavement compaction.

Vibration can be selected and controlled through the vibration switch on the control box. the vibration can
be started only when the diesel engine is on full speed and constant speed. It is forbidden to start the
vibration on the finished hard road.

1.7 Hydraulic steering system

The hydraulic steering system is a hydrostatic servo steering mechanism. The hydraulic steering pump can
supply the pressure oil to the hydraulic steering gear; by turning the steering wheel, drive the steering gear
so as to control the two steering oil cylinders on the hinged frame to conduct steering.

1.8 Console and Cab

This console is in entire framework steel structure, which is fixed on the rear frame through the round
vibration damper. The cab is welded with thin steel plates, in a structure of preventing turning over and
protecting against the falling objects, directly fixed on the console so as to effectively protect the safety of

8

operator. Huge steel glass doors and windows are provided around the cab so that it is spacious and
well-lighted and can prevent ultraviolet rays from radiating. It is provided with luxurious seats, wiper,
overhead light, fan, air conditioner ventilation device (options), and etc. The operating mechanism is
arranged according to ergonomics and set up on the positions which the driver can reach, and it is simple,
easily controlled and operated with convenience and comfort. The electronic monitoring device is provided
in order to effectively monitor the status of motor, hydraulic system, braking system, etc. in real time and
guarantee normal operation of the road roller.

1.9 Electric System

The electric system of the road roller (see appendix) is supplied with power by two 12V serial storage
batteries, with 24V of rated voltage. The motor charges up the battery cells by triangle belt driving AC
generator with integrated adjustor operating.

The electric system is controlled by the power switch, and its specific operations are controlled by different
switches.

1.10 Air conditioning system

The air conditioning system of the road roller can provide cool airs to the cab in summer and heat in winter,

right wheel at the same time.

Start up the road roller, put the planetary gear oil plug to the lowest point, clean the oil plug and its
surrounding area, and remove the oil plug.

Drain out lubricating oils and collect them in the container.

Start up the road roller again and keep the oil plug port at level location.

Add lubricating oil through the oil plug port up to the lower edge of the hole.

Screw on the screw plug.

4.4.17 Replacing the lubricating oil of the planetary reducer of the front wheel

Oil change should be done only when the machine is in hot condition.

Clean all screw plugs and their surrounding area, and remove oil level screw plug (3) and oil filling
screw plug (1).

Remove the oil draining screw plugs (2) in order, drain out and collect the oils in the speed reducer.

Install the oil draining plug, and keep reliable sealing without leakage.

Add fresh oil from the oil filling port up to the lower edge of the oil level hole.

USER MANUAL

Install the oil level screw plug (3) and the oil filling screw plug (1) and tighten them.

4.4.18 Replacing coolant of the engine and clean the water tank

Disconnect the pipe connector at the lower part of the engine radiator, and drain out the anti-freezing
coolant.

Screw off the rotary draining valve under the engine radiator, and drain out coolant.

Use clean water to rinse from the top cover (1) of the auxiliary water tank for 10 minutes, and keep the
water dry.

Connect to the pipe connector under the engine radiator, slowly add new antifreeze coolant from the
top cover of the auxiliary water tank until the coolant reaches the upper edge of the glass optic canal, and
put the upper cover.

Clean the radiating fin of the water tank, and check all pipes of the cooling system for any leakages.

Notice

The coolant should not be added too quickly. After filling full, wait for 2 minutes and test run the
machine and add the coolant again to avoid the false full.

4.4.19 Cleaning the machine

The road roller should be cleaned regularly. If it works in a highly windy and dusty environment, it must
be cleaned carefully once every day. If it is used for compaction in the muddy and humid environment, the
mud scraping board must be properly adjusted to prevent the wheel and machine from mud accumulation.

Notice

If using high pressure spraying waterworks to wash the road roller, the high pressure nozzle must not
spray the electrical parts, dashboard, and insulating materials, which shall be covered up in advance.

The cover of the oil filling port of the hydraulic oil tank, vent header and the cover of the oil filling port of
the diesel oil tank should also be covered up in advance.
