4.2.2 It is recommended to use the oval of such a dimension to be possible to write legibly the
entire alphabetical and numerical codes defining I & C circuit. Minimal letter height
(recommended) is 2,5 mm.
4.1 The first letter indicates the measured or controlled variable. A suitable letter from the column
Letters, corresponding Measured (controlled) quantity of the table in the paragraph
1.4.4.2, is chosen. If needed, an additional letter from the column Additional character can
be added.
4.2 Further letters will be chosen from the column Function of circuit from above mentioned
table.
4.3 If in the lettered code besides the first letter character are also two or more other
characters, these characters shall be lined up in the order I R C T Q S Z A. (This condition
does not relate with additional letters, mentioned in the column Additional character. Letter
I may be omitted, if the indicator is provided with indication of measured variable.
4.2.3 It is recommended to use the united designation (for e.g. ovals) and dimensions of symbols
in whole documentation, while the basic position of symbols is always situated parallely with
the drawing border.
4.2.4 A stalk of symbol can also be broken, breaking must be (if possible) situated parallely with
the drawing border and it must end on the equipment outline in place for the signal
extraction.
4.2.5 For the local I & C circuit are drawn only so called empty symbols, i.e. without the halved line
drawn instead of the longer axis of symbol:
4.2.6 For the remote I & C circuit is symbol drawn with the halved line, which is drawn instead of the
longer axis of symbol. Symbol, which is drawn this way, specifies also the place of
information, in this case it is central (main) control room;
4.2.7 Symbol is drawn with two parallely halved lines, which are drawn instead of the longer axis of
symbol for the remote circuit, but with the matter that the place finformation shall be in the
auxiliary (secondary) control oom.
4.2.8 Symbol for local and remote I & C circuit can be also mutually connected so that they are
either drawn next to each other or above each other and the outline of symbols is
interconnected by comma. Signal line is usually represented by dashed line (DIN) or
uninterrupted line, which is crossed out in regular intervals by oblique line and oblique lines
form an angle with line approx. 60.
4.3 MEASURING CIRCUITS - KKS DESIGNATION ACC. TO PROCESS
4.3.1 Equipment classification
4.3.2 Alphabetical designation of measuring places (Breakdown level 2 - data characters A1A2)
Letter Z can only be used when emergency activity is required, for example shut down,
switched-off (not operational but the emergency shut down) etc.
For letters H directs, that H2 designates higher limit then H1. Letter H3 designates
higher limit then H2 etc. for letters L directs, that L2 designates lower limit then L1.
Letter L3 designates lower limit then L2 etc.
Letter L also designates position OFF and letter H designates position ON. (It directs for
manual, electrical and hydraulic drives or also for the mechanical parts).
In P&I diagrams the marks of position GI (0 - 100%), alike the marks of other
measuring circuits are drawn and that at valves, that are governed more-less or at
control valves and flaps, which are controlled from physical variables (level, pressure,
temperature, etc.) and it is for a reason that the position indicator is wired with cables
by the supplier I&C. In the electrical load list also the position indication 0 - 100% is
mentioned at these consumers.
4.3 Well-arranged alphabetical designation on data character A1A2
CD - density
CF - flow, rate
CK - time
CM - moisture, humidity
CP - pressure
CQ - quality variables (analysis, material properties other than CD, CM, CV)
CR - radiation variables
CT - temperature
CV - viscosity
Note: - We leave letter C if the Direct measuring circuit is used for the control.
DD - density
DE - electrical variables (e.g. Current, voltage, power, electr. Frequency)
DF - flow rate
DK - time
DM - moisture, humidity
DP - pressure
DQ - quality variables (analysis, material properties other than DD, DM, DV)

4.3 Second and third number N2, N3 is used for the serial numbering and it begins for
each group of measured quantities (temperature, pressure, flow etc.) always from
number 1 (01).
BREAKDOWN LEVEL 1
The subdivision of the elementary system (FN) is accomplished by taking numbers in the
direction of the flow. This subdivision may also be the limit of scope of supply between
partners. Gaps are left in the numbering.
BREAKDOWN LEVEL 2
- BR is the equipment code for all piping and ducts (codes A1 A2).
- The line order number (NNN) is taken in the direction of the flow. For this number,
the following series of numbers are defined:
0 system of pipeline
1 system of pipeline
2 system of pipeline
4 system of pipeline
5 system of pipeline
6 drain pipelines
7 vent pipelines
9 free useable
The 2nd number N2 is serial number of pipelines and is decimal. In case that number of
pipelines is great than 9 for individual system, is necessary divide mentioned system as
follows: last pipeline is LCW20 BR090, we continue LCW21 BR010)
A3 Designation
H Heat insulated
P Personnel protection
E Electrically traced
S Steam traced
W Water traced
A Acoustic protection

System Subdivision
principles:
Second number N2 is used for decade serial numbering and is coincident to the
serial number of piping branch (in which valve is installed), numbering of piping
branches is used on whole tenths.
Third number N3 is used for serial numbering of valves in the same piping branch by
use of numbers 0 to 9.

proved to be good for some electrical components.
5.7.1 The breakdown of electrical components for codes -H, -K, -S, -W, -X
5.2 -K Relay
-K21 (start/stop)
-K31 (start 1, on.)
-K32 (start 2 - reversation, off.)
-K41 (open, more)
-K42 (close, less)
-K51 (remotely)
-K6.; -K7.; -K8.; -K9.; (Free to use)
5.4 -W Cables
This designation is used for the point of installation identification in assembly units for
instrumentation and control system (for e.g. in cubicles, panels, consoles etc.). Not
only is this designation important for cabling but for the interconnection of electrical
equipment and equipment of the control technical as well.
This method of designation acc. to point of installation identification in assembly units
serves only for the instrumentation and control system.
There are the same principles in the breakdown level 0 and 1 as for the designation of
process mentioned in 1.3.1, 1.3.2, 1.3.3 a 1.3.4 therefore we do not mention it again.
5.8.2 Code of installation point - Breakdown level 2
The alphabetical designation of installation point in the vertical direction (rows
designation) is done by data characters A1A, data characters AN indicate counting in the
horizontal direction (columns numbering). Data character A3 can be used for designation of
special integrated equipment of design groups or design units, or further breakdown of AN
can be used.
As alphabetical letters (without I and O) are used, on data characters A1A2 for point of
installation identification in the assembly unit there occurs the combination of letters as for
the aggregate designation acc. to process. In order to discriminate it from other types of
designation there must be written (period) "." in front of the breakdown level 2.
As a result to a fact that there are often used codes next to each other in the electric
therefore there is used "=" (sign of equality) in front of designation code acc. to process
and "+" in front of designation code acc. to point of installation, which in similar cases
neither have to contain level 2 nor period for the discrimination of prefix code, which can
fall off in case that the specification stays unambiguous.
The following principles direct for the designation of installation point in assembly units:
The counting direction and counting sequence derive from the initial position data (KU) at
the view to the front side.
The counting direction at the view to the front side is from left to right and from top to
bottom.
The counting direction at the view to the back side is from right to left and from top to
bottom.
Vertical breakdown in axis Y (i.e. rows designation) is designated with Capital letters.
Horizontal breakdown in axis X (i.e. columns numbering) is designated with Arabic
numbers.
5.9 DESIGNATION EXAMPLES OF ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT ACC. TO KKS
5.9.1 Designation of power generation units - data character G
5.1 There are for example more generators in one combined unit. Steam turbine MA. is connected
to generator MK., as well as the gas turbine MB. is connected to next generator MK.;
generators equipment of steam turbine is then 1MK., generators equipment of gas turbine is
then designated 2MK. (take notice of fact that space is not written behind this number as it is
done for the number designating power generation unit). Occasionally it is more suitable (with
respect to replacement possibility for designation of units) to discriminate such equipment on
data character FN (generators equipment of steam turbine is MK10, gas turbine is MK20 etc.).
5.2 Analogously use prefix codes for power outlet:
5.3 Use prefix codes of power outlet for connection without house transformer with average
voltage:
5.9.3 Designation of
transformers
5.1 Designation of
transformers is done inside of the main group B according to following principles:
1 BAT81
5.3 Designation of equipment at transformer
For unambiguous designation, for example for laying are transformer winding
designated on aggregate data character A1A2 by group of letters GT -
equipment of transformer and on data character AN are calculated from first
to last one by side of higher voltage:
This equipment (big and smaller) are independently on the installation point, classified
already in the breakdown level 1 in alphabetical part (data character F1F2F3).
Numbers on data characters FN serve for the fields numbering, voltage levels or other
agreed designations.
Switchgear 1 BFA
Switchgear 2 BFB
Switchgear 3 BFC
5.1 Third field designation of second main switchboard of power generation unit 1
1 BFB03
5.2 Designation of components in switchboard
1 BJA01 -Q01
2 BTA21
5.9.5 Designation of control and deblocking cabinets at engine and its components.
LAC10 GH110P
5.2 Contactor designation in the above mentioned control and deblocking cabinet shall be :
+ BBA
Pumping aggregates LAC10 AP110, MAG20 AP110 and PAC10 AP110 are
fed from switchgear BBA. In the field +BBA01 is for e.g. located the
distribution device (power generation switch etc.) for pumping aggregate
LAC10 AP110. This outlet is designated by process code symbol =LAC10
AP110. Analogously it is done with other outlets.
