1.1 Purpose
This manual provides the information necessary to repair, calibration, description and download the features
of this model.

1.2 Regulatory Information

A. Security
Toll fraud, the unauthorized use of telecommunications system by an unauthorized part (for example,
persons other than your companys employees, agents, subcontractors, or person working on your
companys behalf) can result in substantial additional charges for your telecommunications services.
System users are responsible for the security of own system. There are may be risks of toll fraud associated
with your telecommunications system. System users are responsible for programming and configuring
the equipment to prevent unauthorized use. The manufacturer does not warrant that this product is
immune from the above case but will prevent unauthorized use of common carrier
telecommunication service of facilities accessed through or
connected to it. The manufacturer will not be responsible for any charges that result from such
unauthorized use.

B. Incidence of Harm
If a telephone company determines that the equipment provided to customer is faulty and possibly
causing harm or interruption in service to the telephone network, it should disconnect telephone
service until repair can be done. A telephone company may temporarily disconnect service as long as repair
is not done.

C. Changes in Service
A local telephone company may make changes in its communications facilities or procedure. If these
changes could reasonably be expected to affect the use of the phones or compatibility with the net work,
the telephone company is required to give advanced written notice to the user, allowing the user to take
appropriate steps to maintain telephone service.

D. Maintenance Limitation
Maintenance limitations on the phones must be performed only by the manufacturer or its authorized agent.
The user may not make any changes and/or repairs expect as specifically noted in this manual. Therefore,
note that unauthorized alternations or repair may affect the regulatory status of the system and may void any
remaining warranty.

E. Notice of Radiated Emission

This model complies with rules regarding radiation and radio frequency emission as defined by local
regulatory agencies. In accordance with these agencies, you may be required to provide information such as
the following to the end user.

F. Pictures
The pictures in this manual are for illustrative purposes only; your actual hardware may look slightly
different.

G. Interference and Attenuation

A phone may interfere with sensitive laboratory equipment, medical equipment, etc. Interference from
unsuppressed engines or electric motors may cause problems.

H. Electrostatic Sensitive Devices

ATTENTION

Boards, which contain Electrostatic Sensitive Device (ESD), are indicated by the sign. Following
information is ESD handling:

Service personnel should ground themselves by using a wrist strap when exchange system boards.
When repairs are made to a system board, they should spread the floor with anti-static mat which is
also grounded.
Use a suitable, grounded soldering iron.
Keep sensitive parts in these protective packages until these are used.
When returning system boards or parts like EEPROM to the factory, use the protective package as
described.

4 Q The GPS location isnt right, what should I do?

GPS signals are so weak that location info may not be found due to weather conditions
or other surrounding factors(indoors, radio wave reflections).
When Setting->Location access -> Wi-Fi & mobile network location is ticked, location
info may be brought from a nearby base station. This may not get a correct location info
due to a wider margin of error than GPS.
Tick GPS Satellites, stay outdoors and get the current location via GPS, which will
reduce the margin of error.

5 Q The downloaded application isnt compatible?

Specific descriptions are needed about incompatibility issues.

Generally, incompatibility issues arise because they do not consider compatibility when
A designing apps in the first place.
Inform us of the specific incompatible app. Well check it out.
Thanks.

6 Q How do I make an e-mail account?

Email protocols, e.g. EAS, IMAP4, POP3 are supported.

Register an account as below.
(If you have not registered any account, youll be automatically led to the registration
screen on running the email app.)
* EAS account
Among email service providers, select MS Exchange >Enter email addr & pw (do not
change the user name except when the email addr ID does not match the user name.)
>Select the server addr, domain and SSL use > Set reception intervals and email
synchronization period > (Set security type conforming to the server) > Done.

A
* IMAP4, POP3
Select an email service provider >Enter email addr and pw > (Make sure your
account supports IMAP4 or POP3 service) > Select a reception server and security
type(automatic input if a service provider has already been set) > Select the sending
server and security connection(automatic input if a service provider has been already

9 Q Wifi connection doesnt work well.

WiFi connection glitches result from several causes. Do the following for connection.
1. Make sure WiFi is ON.
2. Make sure it is connected to a service providers AP, e.g. NESPOT, Olleh KT, SKT, U+
etc. (Fig. 1)
1) These APs have open security types, allowing connection with no need to enter
pw. Unless your phone has been authorized by a certain AP, you cant use its WiFi.
Then, try connecting to another AP.
3. Simply, AP info may not match the info saved on your phone.
1) Make sure AP info entered on the phone, e.g. security type and password is
correct. (Fig. 2)
2) AP info may have been updated. Click the AP and Forget. Then, press the Search
button in the menu below, and the AP list will be updated. Try connection again.
(Fig. 1)
4. DHCP server troubles may result in failure to get dynamic IP allocation. Then, use a
A fixed(static) IP to get IP allocation.
Settings > Wi-Fi >Select an AP > Click Show advanced option and use static IP for AP
connection. (Fig.3, Fig. 4)

20 Q How do you use Smart Share?

A none supported.

21 Q Smart Share error occurs.

A none supported.

22 Q Battery consumption is too fast.

1. Where few antenna bars are displayed(radio shadow area), the phone is considered
to be located far from the network. So, sending/receiving the phones location info
registered requires more power, consuming battery power faster.
2. When the LCD Back Light is on, the phone uses up the battery power faster. Ex.)
When LCD Back Lights electric cuttent is 100mA/h, a 1500-mA battery will keep
the LCD on for 15 hours. Longer setting of screen timeout will accelerate battery
consumption. Shorter setting is recommended.
3. Even when finishing some apps and pressing the Home key, the apps keep
running in the background, consuming the battery power. To end an app or
A program, use the Delete/ Previous key.
4. Rooting means the Super User authority over the Android system domain, and
may cause data change in the battery control domain, accelerating battery
consumption.
5.Apps requiring regular data updates, e.g. Dodolphone, NateOn, Kakaotalk, stock/
weather widgets consume more battery power, especially when update cycle is
short.
6. When installing many apps at a time, reboot the phone. Battery power is used up
as fast as the number of widget apps installed on the screen.

4.6 Charging
E460 uses Charger IC(Mini ABB) for charging control. The Charger IC(SNB1058A3RSMR) circuit includes the charging pass transistor
detects the VDD and VBAT voltages, and its control driver. The Charger IC(SNB1058A3RSMR) maximum charging current is set
around 700mA.

Charging Procedure
- Supply the VCHG use a TA or u-USB cable
- The Charger IC(SNB1058A3RSMR) ) control the charging current
- Charging current flows into the main battery

Troubleshooting Check Point

- Connection of the TA or u-USB cable
