Hyperbaric Welding - The Zawtika Project is a gas field development
project located in the Gulf of Moattama, Myanmar.
Zawtika The development area covers Block M9 and small portion of Block M11, owned by Myanmar Oil & Gas Enterprise (MOGE). The field lies approximately 300 Project: km south of Yangon and 290 km west of Tavoy on Zawtika Development Project the Myanmar coast and the average water depth is approximately 135-160 meters. (relative to LAT). Phase 1A Zawtika Development Phase 1A consists of ZPQ (Processing Client: platform integrated with Living Quarter module), a bridged-link PTTEP International Limited wellhead platform WP1, two remote wellhead platforms WP2 and WP3, associated intra-field sealines, offshore and onshore Location: gas export to connect to the PTT gas pipeline at Ban-I-Tong, Onshore Operating Center (ZOC), Block Valve #1 and #2 ZPQ Platform, Gulf of Moattama, (ZBV1 and ZBV2), and Metering Station (ZMS). Myanmar Overview Kreuz Subsea was the subcontractor for the diving activities for Zawtika Project Phase 1A. The scope includes installation of 18 diameter rigid spool and 2 joints of dry hyperbaric welding for 28 diameter spool.
The 18 and 28 spools were prefabricated onshore in
Myanmar and transported to site using a materials barge. The 18 closing spools were fabricated and hydrotested after the metrology had been done.
The hyperbaric welding for 28 Spool was performed at 138m
water depth inside the special enclosure structure called Welding Habitat. Two (2) Pipe Handling Frames were also utilized to align the 28 Spool to the Riser and Pipeline.
Detailed scope of work
1. Stinger Checks and other air diving support for 28 Pipeline Installation 2. Two (2) joints of Hyperbaric Welding on the 28" Diameter Spool connecting between Riser at ZPQ Platform and Pipeline at 138m water depth 3. Installation of four (4) nos. of 18 Diameter Spools connecting between Riser at ZPQ Platform and Pipeline at 138m water depth 4. Install six (6) nos. of Flange Protector on the 18 Diameter spools 5. Removal of three (3) Riser Supports 6. Installation of seven (7) nos. of 28 Spool Bend Protection 7. Abandon Pipeline Recovery and Concrete Mattress Installation
In order to ensure the safety, quality, and efficiency of the work,
all Diver-Welders hired by Kreuz Subsea had to be qualified at the National Hyperbaric Center in Aberdeen, Scotland prior to Installation Vessel: mobilization. Kreuz Subsea chartered third party DP DSV for the project Project Type: Subsea Construction Water Depth: 130 - 140 MSW Commencement Date: Location: Approximately 300km September 2012 south of Yangon and 290km west of Tavoy on the THAILAND Myanmar coast. Completion Date: m January 2014 ~230k
