As with most technologies there is a standard range of sizes that meets the majority
of catchment needs. Humes has made a commitment to hold stock of these
products so you can inspect each solution. All stocked solutions are easy to install and are immediately operational. Having a
standard range reduces the need for expensive consulting and engineering advice. Humes ability to use a range of standard
precast drainage products means a Humes stormwater solutions are more cost effective than other comparable solutions.
When deciding on the right treatment product for your application the following parameters need to be considered; catchment
area, impervious surface area, local rainfall, depth to invert of the outlet pipe, allowable headloss, maintenance frequency and
site constraints. All these parameters are considered when we make our recommendation for your specific requirements. The
Humes technical team are able to provide you with a high level of expertise and the ability to customise all our solutions to
meet more specialised catchment needs.
The Humes range of stormwater treatment devises can suit a variety of applications from the more typical carparks,
commercial sites, residential subdivisions and motorways to applications that have tidal influences.
Humes trade wastewater treatment devices provide waste treatment solutions for a range of applications including food
processing sites, service stations and truck stops.
With over 75 years of providing stormwater and trade wastewater treatment solutions Humes are a solid and reliable
partnering choice, providing the right solutions, backup and support to meet your needs for stormwater and trade wastewater
treatment solutions.
Humes technical team are also available to work with you to design an appropriate
customised solution for specific applications.

Hydrodynamic Separation & Screening
HSS CDS Gross Pollutant Trap
CDS units can be configured to suit
most site limitations associated with
hydraulics and construction and have
the capacity to cater for the highest
possible flow in the stormwater
system. The CDS GPT unit is located
entirely underground and is easy to
maintain as most units can be fitted
with a removable basket that facilitates
cleanouts. The CDS GPT unit is
endorsed by the Auckland Regional
Council (ARC) as a pre-treatment device
that achieves 65% TSS removal.

HSS Humegard Gross Pollutant Trap
Humegard has a unique product design
that effectively captures and retains
gross pollutants typically contained in
stormwater runoff. During normal flows
the angled boom directs all flows into
the storage/treatment chamber where
the gross pollutants are separated and
stored. During peak flows, or under
tidal influences, the angled boom floats
and continues to direct all floating litter
into the storage/treatment chamber.
The regulated flow ensures previously
trapped materials are retained.
Humegard generates substantially lower
head loss than other gross pollutant
removal systems.
Humegard Characteristics
Gross Pollutant Removal 85% (> 5mm)
Sediment Capture 85% (> 150m)
Hydrocarbon Capture Removes sediment bound hydrocarbons
Headloss K = 0.2
Maintenance Frequency 6-12 months

HSS Humeceptor
Humeceptor is a leading proprietary
stormwater quality management
product and is focused on removing the
most ecological damaging stormwater
contaminants including suspended
solids, hydrocarbons/petroleum
products and sorbed contaminants
such as heavy metals. Humeceptor
can be configured to capture up to
60,000 litres of petroleum products from
emergency spill incidents. It retains
entrained hydrocarbons during both
dry weather emergency spills and wet
weather rainfall events.
Humeceptor Characteristics
Sediment Capture 75-95%
Target Sediment Sizes 10-60m
Hydrocarbon Capture 98%
Headloss K = 1.3
Maintenance Frequency 12 months

HSS EnviroPod Catchpit Screen
The EnviroPod is a screen insert that
is easily installed into new and existing
gully catchpits without the need for
construction. An EnviroPod screen
consists of a galvanised steel or
stainless steel supporting frame, plastic
inflow seal, internal bypass mechanism
and a filter bag that is easily removed
and emptied during maintenance.

Filtration
F Humes Sand Filter
Sand filters generally comprise two
compartments: a sedimentation
chamber and a filtration chamber. The
main benefit of the Humes Sand Filter
is the flexibility of shape, where space
is constrained. The depth and footprint
can be varied according to space
constraints. Humes simple design
incorporates an overflow opening to
prevent flooding in case of storm events
greater than the design storm.

Filtration (continued)
F Filternator
Whether youre targeting total
suspended solids, nutrients such as
nitrogen and phosphorous, petrol, oil, or
all the above, the Filternator is the ideal
choice. It can be customised to remove
a wide range of solid and soluble
pollutants from stormwater runoff by
adjusting the filter compounds.
Auckland Regional Council (ARC) has endorsed that the Filternator treatment
device achieves Total Suspended Solids (TSS) removal in accordance with TP10.
Filternator Characteristics
Total Suspended Solids Removal 80-88%
Maintenance Frequency 6-12 months*

Detention & Attenuation
DA Aluflo Corrugated Aluminium Detention Tanks and Soakage Chambers
Aluflo detention tank features include
versatility of configuration as well as
extremely low installation mass. This
product lends itself to sites that are
difficult to reach with heavy lifting
equipment or have unusual limitations
on available footprint. This product
is available in diameters DN600 to
DN1200 and stock lengths of 4m and
6m. Customised units up to DN2400
and lengths up to 12m long are
available on request. Manufactured
using marine grade aluminium Aluflo
detention tanks provide long service
life in locations subject to saline
groundwater conditions. The proven soil-metal load transfer mechanism permits full HN-HO-72 load support with minimum
600mm cover or fill heights up to 68m (depending on diameter). Aluflo is a New Zealand Transport Authority (NZTA) approved
material suitable for use in culvert applications under specification TNZ F/2.

DA RainSmart Modular Polypropylene Detention and Soakage Structures
Manufactured from recycled
polypropylene this eco-friendly product
allows the designer to specify a wide
range of shape options to suit every
site. The stackable RainSmart modules
are light and easy to handle on site.
Therefore this product lends itself to
hard to access locations. Depending on

DA Storm Train Modular Precast Concrete Detention Structures
Storm Train utilises pre-cast concrete
modules to form large to very large
detention volumes with the added
feature of accommodating low cover
applications when subjected to
vehicle loads. This product is able to
incorporate treatment mechanisms
within the storage volume and is ideal
for large sites such as supermarket or

Trade Waste
TW Humes API Oil Interceptor
The API Oil Interceptor was designed by
the American Petroleum Institute (API)
to specifically capture hydrocarbons.
The Humes API Oil Interceptor is a
device that separates hydrocarbons
from stormwater runoff and has the
capability to capture an accidental spill
of 2500 litres discharging at 1000 litres
per minute.

Trade Waste (continued)
TW Humes Oil & Grit Interceptor
The Humes concrete Oil & Grit
Interceptors are applicable for
pre-treating industrial trade waste
prior to discharge into the sewer
system. It is also suitable for low
volume stormwater runoff from small
areas (< 150m2) where hydrocarbons
products are present or where
small spills routinely fall on paved
surfaces exposed to rain or wash
down. Application examples include
washdown vehicle pads and
workshops.

Trade Waste (continued)
TW Humes Grease Interceptor
Grease Interceptors are settling systems
designed to trap grease and suspended
sediments from commercial activities
involving food processing. The New
