Dear Clark County School District:

As a student prospering to be a teacher, it has been brought to my attention that
technology might be taken out of school. Technology has expanded enormously in the
past years and has been incorporated greatly into a students education. Students of this
generation are expected to rely on technology to succeed. It is my intention for you to
review your decision to discontinue the technology in the classrooms.

Every day I realize that technology has a bigger impact on the way students learn. During
my Education 214 class, I constantly turned to the internet when I was doubtful about
anything. Not only has it become daily routing for myself, but it has become a routine for
students at ABC Community School to be engaged with different types of technology.
According to Technology Device Ownership: 2015, Monica Anderson states that as of
2015 68% of Americans have smartphones and 45% have tablet computers. More than
half of Americans are engaged in some type of advanced software.

Used to support both teaching and learning, technology infuses classrooms with digital
learning tools, such as computers and hand held devices; expands course offerings,
experiences, and learning materials; supports learning 24 hours a day, 7 days a week;
builds 21st century skills; increases student engagement and motivation; and accelerates
learning (Use of Technology in Teaching and Learning). Todays society is comfortable
and educated with technology. If the world is evolving into a technological savvy way,
why take away what took so long to evolve?

Sincerely,

Roxana Loya
