LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
The main objective of this assignment is to acquaint students with the concept of
globalization, and with the various dimensions of global businesses.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
After attempting this assignment, students will grasp the idea of globalization and its
implementations on markets worldwide.
The Case:
One of the most interesting developments of the century is the globalization of markets. It has a
great impact on different factors like economic transactions, organizational processes, and
institutions. This globalization of markets involves the rising interdependency among the world
economies; multinational nature of sourcing, production, importing & exporting, and investment
activities; growing frequency of cross-border trades and funding; and intensified competition.
In the first stage, the German automotive company will make assessment of its acceptance of
cars through exports of Completely Built-up Units (CBU) in Pakistan before establishing its
assembling plant. In the second stage, assessment will be based on the feasibility results.
However, with the new automobile policy accompanied with sufficient room for overseas
players in the local market, foreign brands will observe bright opportunity of investment and
business in the expanding market of Pakistan.
REQUIREMENT:
Being a student of international marketing, what dynamics do you think can force AUDI to grow
its business in the global market specifically in the emerging market like Pakistan? Support your
answer with at least five valid global dimensions. (10Marks)
