When fault in GN interface (1 link from router 2/3 at MPBN TO NIB down)
Generated when a external node - Gateway GPRS Support Node (GGSN) or Serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN) on the Gn interface - is not
responding to echo request after Gn_N3-RequestsEcho attempts. Gn_N3-RequestsEcho is configurable by the operator.
The event gtpGSNrestarted, is generated when an external node notifies the SGSN (W) about a restart, if this alarm has not been generated
already for the particular node.
The SGSN has lost the connection on the gtpc path = (<Hostname>) <SGSN VIP address>:<SGSN Port number><-><External node
address> (Connection between this node and the external node)
This alarm is generated when a external node, GGSN or SGSN on the Gn interface, is not responding to echo request after Gn_N3-
RequestsEcho attempts.
The reason can be that the node has restarted or the GPRS Tunneling Protocol - Control plane (GTP-C) path is down
The cause may be:
No communication is possible between the SGSN and the node that caused the alarm
Actions to Be Taken
Wait until the external node has restarted, or check the node that caused the alarm.
A GPRS Tunneling Protocol - User plane (GTP-U) path between the Serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN) and an external node-
such as a Gateway GPRS Support Node (GGSN) or a Radio Network Controller (RNC)-is down.
