Being at luskin I have tried to do many things such as dance ,music , step ,cheer ,poetry .and volleyball those all
have a big impact in my life the reason is they all have a sentimental value to my family. Dance is one of The biggest
passions in my life I've been dancing since I was six years old. Step what just another from if dance to me and as
well as cheer. Volleyball my family has been playing it, it's a tradition and I want to keep it going. Poetry is just
another way for me express my feelings In a different form rather then fighting. And music is just a important factor it
ties dance . Poetry, step. And cheer together.

Living in the neiborhood i live in , and it's not that much to do but when you finally find something that's right and fits
you ,you continue to do it over the years . From ninth through 12th grade I have done plenty of things dealing with my
church going to elderly homes and singing to them. Also going to homeless centers and giving them food on
Thanksgiving .outside of church I have been helping of foundation call working dreams, helping kids in the system,
giving something that they are mostly appreciative.

Outside of school enrichment activities that I have done/still am doing is dance. I take lessons at international dance
 academy in North Hollywood , there are different types of dance that we do but we mostly try to stay in our genre. For
example hip-hop ,jazz ,contemporary, lyrical, modern lyrical ,African, jazz funk, and pop.

14. What events, circumstances or experiences have had a major impact on your way of thinking either
positively or negatively? How did it affect you, your grades, or your participation in school? How did it shape
the person you are today? (i.e. moving, cultural differences, accident, family circumstances, death, etc.) *
The last but not least thing that I have considered as a barrier is dealing with foster child's you never know what you
will get , just have to take patience step by step. I have volunteered for an organization called Working dreams ,
Working dreams is a organization that deals with kids and teenagers In the system . For the past three I have
experienced the excitement and enjoyable spirit of those teens and kids that has felt important for once or more
times in their life by having something given to them and not taken away. But I have also experienced moment with
these girls that are in the system not being able to have their Prom Experience because it has been taken away
from them.
15. What was the most difficult situation you have ever had to face? How did you handle it? Is there anything
you would change about the way you dealt with it if you could?
The most difficult situations I have had to face was losing close Family and close Friends of my family. I have lost My
great Aunt , God Mother, Aunt , Best friend Mom and grandmother , either from a tragic death or cancer. How I
handle this situation is i either wrote poems or just my feeling in general, danced my heart out, or went church and
talked to God for guidance l. No because I felt like I dealt with the problem very well beside sometimes crying at night
regretting the things I wish I did do with them or said to one another.
16. What do you like to do for fun? (Hobbies, other special interests, etc.)
What I like to do for fun is Dance , no matter I am always busting a move out of no where . I also like to sing, write
poetry, and swimming . Another would be playing Volleyball, I found comfort in a sport that takes a lot to focus and
Timing.
17. What are you most proud of?
What I am most proud of is not letting people affect my life. I have learned that it's always people that comes and
goes on your life, and if you love them enough let them go ,they will soon back if your relationship is real. I gain
confidence and appreciate myself for how I am , nobody opinion would change it unless it is mine.
18. Describe a leadership role you have held. What did you gain from this experience?
describing myself as having a leadership role would be apart of a dance team throughout most of my life i have
began to get trusted with able to be called captain . Or helping others in need , having someone come to you in their
time of need let you know is that your reliable. What experience i have gain from it is responsibility and
trustworthiness . For explain dance has always been a big part of my life , growing in something that I am passionate
for , and for another person to see that in you perceptive change In time .

20. What would you like to included in your recommendation that sets you apart from other applicants? What is
unique about you?
What set me aside from other students would be honesty, I tend to let it all on the table I have gotten better from
when I was younger . To only be 18 I have academically not been so stable , but i have gotten better on focusing on
what important in my life and especially with the career choice I want to have. I have been held back Twice and lost
total confidence in believing I can academically smart. I am still learning that I have set my mind to the highest goal
possible, and believe I can actually do it.
21. EOP: List any volunteer, extracurricular activities, or work experience in which you have been involved in
past two years.
I have done a foster care foundation named Working Dreams. I am a JG( Junior Guard ) Learned the basics of
lifeguarding (soon will be one). Also been on a Swim Team for a year.
22. EOP: Why would you like to attend college? Discuss your career and personal goals. Are there any
particular circumstances, school experiences, or persons that influenced your preparation or motivation to
attend college (e.g., cultural, financial background, family, teacher, schools you attend)? Please explain.
I would like to attend college so I can know that I'm actually worthy of accomplishing something. Lately I have been
hearing that college is the best time of you life. but that's not something I want to go to school for I hate school when I
can't get something .I need an education for my life Ahead of me. For the longest I have been saying that I want to
be a dancer but dance is just a dream. My passion is to become a social worker that's a career goal, I have seen too
many kids as in the system that don't have anything but there still appreciative for the torn clothes on their back or
shoes from 5 years ago. 10-year-olds have became a bigger influence on my life because even when I don't have
anything they still say thank you.
23. EOP: Briefly discuss your academic background. Did you utilize any additional support during high school,
such as tutoring? Do your grades in high school and/or college reflect your academic ability or potential?
My academic background I have been held back twice once in the third grade and the second time in the 7th. Now
that I realize I haven't learned anything because I still not putting t more effort into what I know I'm capable of . I have
lost compete confidence in my academic standards for myself because of held back. No I did not really utilize my
additional support in high school I should have but I felt like I could do it by myself and ended up giving up . My
grades does not affect my academic ability or potential that I am going to use when I get into college , the reason
being because I'm pushing myself harder and I'm actually trying , I need to get somewhere in life.
24. EOP: Briefly describe your family's economic background. Include information about financial challenges.
My family's economic background will have to be being a low income family in the hood. Our financial challenges in
 our life will be living .The reason why I say living is because it's so many challenges and obstacles to deal with
finding a way to earn money trying to make a dollar out if 15 cents. The cost of living is extremely pricey . The
expenses of rent has became a high priced. Trying to pay for bills putting food on the table and still have enough
money to do certain things.
