eLearning

Goals 2017
1. To create student centred classrooms through the integration of eLearning
strategies
- Provide opportunities where students can play an active role in their learning process and
determine how
to reach their desired learning outcomes on their own.
- Engage students in tasks where they are able to build up their knowledge and think
critically.
- Provide opportunities across a range of learning areas for collaboration and sharing of
learning.
- Establish online learning environments that can be accessed anywhere, anytime. (Google
Drive / Google
Classroom / Blogs).
- Create opportunities where students are able to have some choice over their learning - how
they present
it / show their understanding etc)
- Collect a range of student voice.

2. To create successful digital citizens

- Deliberate and explicit teaching of Cyber-Safety. (Net Safe, Cybersafety.org.nz) Explore


what is Digital
Citizenship?-Enabling eLearning website. Tki. Edtalks.

- Incorporate strategies to support digital citizenship in all areas of learning, before, during
and after.

- It is necessary for teachers to have direct experience of the online environments to teach
students
effectively about responsible cyber behaviour (Students using technology appropriately.
Students and
teachers understanding their roles and responsibilities in a digital society).

3. To create and maintain classroom environments where eLearning is integrated


across all learning areas.
- Teachers to specifically teach eLearning skills within their programmes. (GAFE / movie
making /
animation / photography / Web 2.0 tools)
- Include eLearning in term weekly and unit planning.
- Participation and promotion of local and national competitions (Roslyn Digi-share / Digi
Awards / Fair Go
ad awards etc)
- Develop and continue to use online learning spaces to share and showcase learning.
(Google Drive /
Google Classroom / Blogs)
- Build on the current Roslyn ICT Toolbox to include the variety of GAFE, digital camera and
tablet skills.
- Develop a student Tech Team that can help support teachers and students within the
classroom with
eLearning.
- Provide staff with PD opportunities relating to GAFE / eLearning skills and strategies
(animation / moving
making / Web 2.0 tools).
- Develop a Google Drive skills type checklist to identify areas that staff and students need to
work on.
- Teachers to take responsibility to learn how to use GAFE / Google Classroom / Web 2.0 tools /
upskill
themselves in a range of eLearning strategies and skills.
