One Thousand Gifts
Its not often that I recommend a book.
But, One Thousand Gifts, by Ann Voskamp, is one that everyone needs to read.

HELPWANTED I have about three chapters to read to finish the book. Ive already started my one thousand gifts.
Below are a few paragraphs that people have shared about Anns book. These I have taken from
her website.
Life
Posted on March 29, 2016 by athankfulone
- For fluttering eyelashes on a healthy, sleeping child
- Chubby toddler hands holding my face in place for a kiss
- Cold, rosy red, 6-year-old cheeks glowing with life
- God-questions from the older son at bedtime
- Reading a book, snug and cozy, in blankets made with love by and passed down from Memere
- Grateful for this book
Posted on March 14, 2016 by athankfulone
- Today I am grateful for the placement of the One Thousand Gifts devotional that I stumbled
upon last week. I just began the first couple devotions and already my book is filled with high-
lighter pen marks. So much rich goodness that flows from Anns words and her graceful heart.
Being ungrateful in my selfish moments is something I have always worried about and prayed that
I might overcome. but then the world steps in and tells me I should be worried, or angry, or
stressed. This book I know is going to do amazing things to my heart and soul I can already
feel it. I am grateful for a woman like Ann who shares this gift of her faith, wisdom, and rawness
that so many of us women struggle with, in having to be so much to so many 24/7. So my heart is
beyond grateful today for this book, this website, and all the women who share my heart and soul
for a grateful heart and life that exudes glorifying Jesus who deserves all of our thanks in every
moment of every day.
Sharon

The Difficult Thanks

- 19. Hoped for hope between us.
- 20. His reactive backlash of hatred and rejection
- 21. My scurry to wall off, find place and move out
- 22. The earthquake of love/hate tearing at a beautiful 6-year-olds heart
- 23. Christ, rejected/hated too
- 24. Christ my warm hiding place
- 25. Eucharisteo always precedes the miracle
Tears as I learn. Gratitude, Ann, that you have been honest about your journey. Im on a path to
know the miracle soon I pray.
Lisa
If youve read this far, Im sure you get the message. Counting your blessings with thanksgiving
will make your eyes see God.

This weeks bottom line: Sacrifice thanks offerings to God; fulfill your vows to the Most High.
