The Enemy is about a detective named Malcom. He first met

Penelope Ashton at a dinner-party. Penelope is a biologist doing
research with Professor Lumsden at University College in London.
Penelope always comes home late because shes so busy. Malcom
quickly fell in love with Penelope and he started dating her. Malcom took
Penelope to a Chinese restaurant. They talked about what Penelope
was doing in her work. Later in the evening Malcom took Penelope
home. Penelopes father George Ashton is also a biologist. Hes in his
mid-fifties and his wife is dead. He was tall grey-haired and very fit,
Malcom discovered that when George beat him in tennis. While Malcom
was talking to Penelope near her swimming pool, a man threw acid at
Penelopes sister Gillain. The man ran away and Malcom called the
ambulance. Later in the evening George Ashton suspiciously forced
Malcom to marry his daughter Penelope. Malcom asked him why but
George didnt tell him. The next day George Ashton disappeared.
Penelope immediately called Malcom to ask him where was her father.
Malcom went to his office and talked to his boss Oglive. Oglive told
Malcom to investigate his laboratory and his factory . Oglive did not want
to tell the reason why he told Malcom to investigate in his laboratory and
his factory. Malcom walked out of the office and he was feeling very
angry. Larry Godwin was there right next to him. He shared an office to
Malcom and they were great friends. Larry Godwin also knows about the
factories around in London.Malcom asked him if he knows any factories
that were owned by George Ashton. Larry Godwin told Malcom George
Ashton runs a factory in the Slough and they make plastics.Malcom went
back to the office to check the information about George Ashton.He
turned on the computer and it had words on it.It said IDENTIFY
YOURSELF. Malcom identified himself and it said INFORMATION
LEVEL?All the information in the computer was kept on different levels.
Malcom typed George Ashton and immediately the message came up
on the screen.THIS INFORMATION IS NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS LEVEL
TRY LEVEL YELLOW. Malcom was very surprised. He didnt expect
there was information about George Ashton.This meant that George
Ashton was a very important man.He kept trying each colour level but
nothing about George Ashton showed up.The last level that Malcom
could access was LEVEL PURPLE.While Malcom was thinking why
George Ashton was such an important man,Oglive caught him looking at
the files. He shouted at Malcom and he told him there was going to be a
meeting downstairs in 5 minutes with a short,fat man as their boss of
their company. He asked Malcom why are you so interested
in George Ashton.Malcom replied that he wants to marry his
daughter.Then he asked Malcom why did Malcom think there was
information about George Ashton in the computer. Malcom wanted to
find more about George Ashton.The fatman said why? Malcom replied
someone threw acid into his youngest daughter and i intend to find out
why the man threw acid. Oglive and the fatman ordered Malcom to spy
on George Ashtons family. Malcom refused but he had to accept it
because if he doesnt do it hes going to get fired. The next day George
Ashtons Butler Benson also disappeared. Penelope was getting worried
because she only has Gillian left in the family. Penelope visited Gillian in
the hospital.Later on Malcom found 2 letters on George Ashtons
laboratory. It was for Malcom and Penelope.George Ashton wanted
Malcom to protect Penelope and he ran away because the government
was looking for him.Malcom gave the letter to Penelope.She stopped
talking to Malcom. Malcom and his partner Larry Godwin researched on
who threw acid on Gillian.They found out the man who threw acid.He is
a taxi driver and hes a religious extremist. Malcom and Larry Godwin
came into his house and asked questions. He said that he was targeting
Penelope because she was using science to defy against god. Malcom
and Larry Godwin could not arrest him because he was crazy and he
had mental issues. Malcom told this to Penelope and she cried. She felt
sorry because Gillian is almost blind because of her.Malcom disscovered
that the shortfat man Lord Cregar was behind all of this.He plans to kill
George Ashton. He ordered Benson to spy on him and he wants Benson
to kill George Ashton when they arrive in Sweden. Malcom and Larry
Godwin quickly went on a plane to go to Sweden. When they got there
they started following George Ashton but when they got close to
him,Benson shot George Ashton and he ran away. George died with
another letter for Malcom. George Ashtons real name is Aleksandr
Chelyuskin and he was born in Russia.Hes a scientist who creates
nuclear bombs for the Russian army but the Government of Russia and
England wanted to keep him so he could make more. George got sick of
making them every single day so he escaped Russia to start a new life in
England. Lord Cregar is a corrupted governor and he wanted to bomb
America with Englands help. Malcom had no one else but Larry Godwin
to help him in his investigation. Malcoms boss Oglive was also helping
Lord Cregar. Malcom and Larry Godwin secretly went into Lord Cregars
mansion and they arrested Lord Cregar and Oglive. America wanted to
thank Malcom and Larry for stopping these corrupted governors.
Malcom and Penelope got married and they lived happily ever after.
