After installation, wiring, calibration and all the settings, make sure Mode lamp is located at MEAS
then start measurement. MEAS lamp always glows during the measurement.

Display
example during the measurement

Note pH value varies depending on water temperature, thus it is necessary to measure and
record water temperature as well as pH value.
Note Note that if there is a significant difference between the water temperature measured
when calibration is conducted and the one when measurement is conducted, error may
be observed.
Note ENT, and button does not work during the measurement.

32
8.2. Transmit output
Transmit output is between 4 to 20 mA depending on the measurement range.
Regarding measurement range, see 7.4. Setting of measurement range (Transmit output).

(Example)
When setting high limit of measurement range to 10, low limit to 2
When measured pH value is 2.00, transmit output is 4mA.
When measured pH value is 10.00, transmit output is 20mA.

Note When measured value falls below the measurement range, transmit output is 4mA.
When measured value exceeds the measurement range, transmit output is 20mA.

Transmit output is holded by inputting non-voltage contact signals from outside.

When switching modes by pressing MODE button instead of inputting non-voltage contact signals
from outside, transmit output is 4mA

Note When shift range of measured value is set as stated in 7.8.Setting of shift range of
measured valueError! Reference source not found., transmit output is in relation to the
value shown in data display part.

e.g.) When setting shift range of measured value to -1.00 and actual measured value is
5.00, Display part shows "4.00". Thus transmit output is in relation to 4.00.

33
8.3. Alarm contact output
When measured value exceeds the high alarm limit (which is stated in 7.3. Setting of alarm point),
HIGH lamp glows and high alarm limit is output.
When measured value falls below the low alarm limit (which is stated in 7.3. Setting of alarm point),
LOW lamp glows and low alarm limit is output.

High alarm limit is output. (example)

Low alarm limit is output. (example)

When alarm limit is not used, neither HIGH lamp nor LOW lamp glows.
Alarm contact output is holded by inputting non-voltage maintenance signals from outside.

Note When hysteresis band is set in 7.3.Setting of alarm point, alarm contact works as showed
in P22.

8.4. Holding of transmit output and alarm contact output

When non-voltage maintenance signals are input from outside, maintenance signal terminals are
conducted and MEAS lamp blinks. (Note that data display part is not holded.)
This function is effective if used when maintenance is done.

State of when transmit output and alarm contact output are holded. (example)

Note MEAS lamp blinks when transmit output and alarm contact output are holded. This is
not malfunction.

34
8.5. Error display

8.5.1. Out of range

When measured value exceeds the high limit range or falls below the low limit range (which are
stated in 7.4. Setting of measurement range (Transmit output) ), it is flagged as out of range and
the measured value blinks. In this case, please reset high limit range and low limit range properly.

When high limit range is set to "10" and low limit range is set to "6", then measured value
becomes
4.50 (example)
"4.50" blinks.

8.5.2. Improper calibration

When electromotive force of pH electrode is out of standard range, it is flagged as improper
calibration and "7.00" (or 4.00, "9.00") and CHECK lamp blinks.
In this case, Mode lamp does not get back to MEA, thus press MODE button to get it back at MEAS.
Note that, in this case, it may be necessary to change electrode internal solution or pH electrode
replacement, or pH standard solution replacement. Then, please conduct calibration again.
