Newman Fellowship Proposal Assessment Form

Rationale

The Newman Fellowship Programme is UCDs most prestigious post-doctoral


programme and is a leading international platform for researchers in the
humanities and sciences. The programme is 100% financed by business and
industry and is a key mechanism for building strategic partnerships between UCD
and industry. Each Fellowship is awarded for two years and is a full-time post. In
order to ensure the ongoing academic rigour of the Newman Fellowship
Programme, each research proposal is submitted to the Newman Fellowship
Programme Assessment Panel for review.

Conditions
Panel Member profile
As a Newman Fellowship Programme Assessment Panel member you should
have:
A first-class record in conducting and leading internationally respected
research
Research experience in an academic field close to but not necessarily
specific to the particular proposal
Proven ability to exercise judgment across a broad spectrum of research
issues

Conflict of interest
If you think that there is the potential for a conflict of interest please let us know
as early as possible and we can recruit another member of the panel to assess
the given proposal

Confidentiality
Assessment Panel members will not divulge or communicate to any unauthorised
person, any confidential information connected with or acquired in the course of
undertaking the assessment. This restriction shall cease to apply when the
information is in the public domain.
