 THE FACTS
8 out of every 100,000 teenagers will commit
suicide, and another 8 will be victims of
homicide

Homicide and suicide are the 2nd and 3rd leading

cause of death among teenagers

Firearms are the instrument of death in 85% of

homicides and 40% of suicides

Guns are present in 1/3 of the homes of our

youth

(Handgun Trigger Safety Act of 2014)

All handguns manufactured, sold, and imported

into the USA must incorporate personalized
handgun technology within 2 years

Existing traditional handguns can be returned to

manufacturer to be retrofitted with
personalization technology at no cost to the
owner

This bill would authorize grants to the National

Institute of Justice for the research and
development of personalized gun technology

THIS BILL WOULD NOT:

Require personalization technologies for rifles
and long-guns

WHAT IS A PERSONALIZED
HANDGUN?
Personalized handguns are impossible to be
fired by anyone other than their registered owner

Personalized handguns have been tested

extensively, and failure rates are the same as
those of traditional handguns

California and New Jersey are already

implementing personalized handgun technology
