Data Warehouse Management with SAP BW for Fashion Wear:
Introduction: Our company produces Fashion wear and maintains a world-wide distr
ibution of its products.
Three product groups are offered Jeans, Boots, and Bags. Each product group comp
rises of a number of
products. Companys organization is divided into one production plant and four are
as of distribution.
Each area consists of two or more regions, which again has their own distributio
n centers.
The companys customers are resellers who are grouped into following customer type
s: web shop, specialized
store, retail store, shopping clubs.
Customers are attributed to at least one distribution centre.
Companys cost controlling differentiates three cost groups - variable costs, part
ly fixed costs, and fixed costs.
Responsibility: You are employed as a consultant to design and implement a data
warehouse for our company
according to the information given Star Schema.
Tasks: You should create a Info Cube FW00_SA in the following info area where 00 s
tands for the user
number: Info Area FASHION_WEAR_00.
The cube has five dimensions with three navigation attributes, which can be seen
from star schema. Additional
it should have key figures according to data file. The dimension organization ha
s a hierarchy, which will be
retrieved from the master data. It is not time-dependent. The dimension time sho

Develop an Inventory Disposal Planning System for a global:
The Client: A large consumer products company with major manufacturing facilitie
s in the US and Europe, and
operating in 200 countries.
The Challenge: The client wanted to improve upon its SKU Management process for
the disposal of inventory,
to be able to identify its slow-moving products and make timely decisions as to
when an item must be taken off
the shelf and disposed off.
The Solution: Company partnered with the client to carry out end-to-end developm
ent of a monitoring tool
with pre-defined reports needed to support the process of tracking and execute t
he process of disposal of
rationalized SKUs. The SKU management process utilizes a simplified market level
profit valuation of the
demand plan of the individual SKU. This profitability is aggregated across all m
arkets within a region to
determine the regional profitability of the SKU. If the regional profitability o
f the SKU overtime does not meet
the defined hurdle rate, then the SKU must be identified for elimination. Compan
ys solution involved
generating reports and trigger processes that would help make critical decisions
and take action at the
appropriate time to reduce or manage the inventory of SKUs. The reports are as f
ollows:
Action Report: It lists all rationalized SKUs that require the set up of a dispo
sal plan. Disposal plans include
sell off, break down, disposal, charity, transfer, etc. They have a clearly defi
ned execution period by which all
remaining inventory should be disposed off.
Monitor Report: This ensures the follow-through and completion of the disposal p
rocess. It indicates the
progress against each planned disposal.
Escalations Enabled Report: Failures to adhere to the applied disposal plan or t
o meet the deadline are
identified from the Monitor Report and escalations enabled using this report.
Slow-moving Report: This report identifies the slow-moving SKUs and lists demand
, inventory and months of
forward coverage.
Non-working Inventory Summary Report: This report is used by Management at the r
egional and higher
levels within the global value chain organization, to understand the exposure th
e company has in the form of
inactive and potentially inactive inventory. The report is also used by financia
l organizations in preparing and
tracking inventory reserves.
The Benefits:

wer costs
Significant reduction in IT spending by having key resources onsite and coordin
ating with the offshore
team through the offshore model
End-to-end project responsibility resulting in a single vendor contact.
