1.0 Introduction

Burger King was originally from Florida (United states of America) in 1954, Keith
Kramer is the founder of Burger king (Daszkowski, D .2016). Moreover, in 1975, Burger
king managed to opened two-thousand restaurants in three continent and ninety percent of the
franchisees are independent and today, Burger king have fifteen thousand outlets in eighty-
four countries. Although, Burger King is not the Market leader in fast food industry, as there
are more potential fast food companies such as Mc Donald, Wendys etc. However, Burger
King is considered as one of the fastest growing company in fast food industry with the
market share of 15.5 percent in the food market industry. Therefore, the report will include
the Burger king operation management strategies, which include the input till output process
and followed by the management activities at the moment. In-addition, this report will also
conclude with recommendations for fast-food companies would able to implement in the
future usage in order improve its business strategies.

2.0 Input, Transforming Process and Output.

In the process value mapping, Burger king produce similarly to any other fast-food chain
products such as Mc Donald where they produce Big Mac burger as one of their main known
menus; Subway has its own customization sandwich which can be altered based on their
customers preference. Although, most of the fast food company produce the same range of
product, but then each company has its specific design and customisation of its own
sandwich. Burger King have its specific name for its own famous burger which is The
Whoppers. According to Burger king beef are 100% British beef which is supplied by
the UK farmer. It also applied to any certain countries where all the beef is 100% produce by
the local farmer. This helps burger king to reduce its cost towards import process regarding
the meat and it also help to reduce the legal factors of importing meats to another country.
Therefore, the table below will explain the specific detail of the process from input to output,
which is the raw materials needed, involve the process of making the burger until the end
product delivered to the customers.

Therefore, the table above explained how the five product of Burger king has been made, the
process of each product might take different amount of time to prepared. However, Burger
king are also known as one of the fastest meal prepared in the fast food industry. In addition,
the amount of preparing the food might be different depending on various peak and non-peak
hours. As burger king aim to target people want food to go, this does help people that are on
rush and busy with their schedule in a day. Burger king also produce varieties of menu for
kids and adult in order to fit the food market industry based on the location of the branch.

3.0 Capacity & Demand

From Statista showing that the fast food industry has fluctuating and increase from 2002 to
2016. Where the explanation by to Bacon (2015) fast food industry tends to aim selling their
product to baby boomers generation. As the population has grown roughly about 18% in
2012, the population is increased compare to previous generation. Therefore, the shift in
demographic will able to benefit the industry as the population growth that will lead the fast
food industry growing. Providing the affordable price to the customer leads to demand
increased and avoidable.

Capacity management

4.0 Better Operation Management for Burger King

Mc Donald have prepared self-checkout or self-ordering machine in order


to cut more time consuming during peak hours, where the customers will
able to order using a machine where all the menu are available based on
the machine. The fore burger-king will able to implement this method to
reduce the time consuming of taking order during the peak hours.
Continually improvement by providing training to every employee will also
help the business to grow as the employee or staff understand its task and
also responsible for its job.
Wasted reduction and speedy system.
