Ilocos Region (Region I)

- is an administrative region of the Philippines, designated as Region I, occupying


the northwestern section of Luzon. It is bordered by the Cordillera Administrative
Region to the east, the Cagayan Valley to the northeast and southeast, and
the Central Luzon to the south. To the west lies the South China Sea.
- The region comprises four provinces: Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La
Union and Pangasinan. Its regional center is San Fernando, La Union.
-The 2000 Census reported that the major languages spoken in the region
are Ilocano at 66.36% of the total population at that time, Pangasinan with 27.05%,
and Tagalog with 3.21%.

Cagayan Valley (Region II)

- Cagayan Valley (Lambakng Cagayan in Filipino) is a region of thePhilippines,


also designated as Region II or Region 02. It is composed of five provinces,
namely: Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela,NuevaVizcaya, and Quirino. Its regional
center is Tuguegarao City.

-The region encompasses the outlying islands of the Babuyan and Batanes to the north.

-During Spanish times Cagayan Valley had a larger territory than what it has today. It
included the territories of the above-mentioned provinces and the eastern parts of
the Cordillera provinces of Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao and Benguet.

National Capital Region (NCR) (Metro Manila)

- Metropolitan Manila, also known as Metro Manila is the


capital region of the Philippines.
- Filipino/ Tagalog is the language in this region.
- It is the 2nd most populous and the most densely
populated region of the country with a population of 11.86
million (2010 Census of population, NSO) in an area of 636
square kilometres.
- The National Capital Region (NCR) is composed
of Manila, the capital city of the country, Quezon City, the
country's most populous city, and the cities of Caloocan, Las
Pias, Makati, Malabon, Mandaluyong, Marikina,
Muntinlupa, Navotas, Paraaque, Pasay, Pasig, San Juan,
Taguig, and Valenzuela, including the only remaining the
municipality of Pateros
