How to develop oral communication skills ?

What opportunities could you give your students to produce
language more freely ? Give examples to lllustrate your answer .

In this modern world one needs to have the basic skills to communicate in english .However,
As we all know , Oral communication skills often seem to be the one skill we struggle with the
most. If you want to improve your oral communication skills now. Do not let the inability to
converse in English become your major barrier in your career improvement. You can overcome
your fear for this beautiful and rich language by improving the skills in the following ways.

Opportunities for students to speak are of utmost importance in the class as they Foster
communictaion there are endles things we as teachers could do .for instance, Traditional
classroom speaking practice often takes the form of drills in which one person asks a question
and another gives an answer. The question and the answer are structured and predictable, and
often there is only one correct, predetermined answer. The purpose of asking and answering
the question is to demonstrate the ability to ask and answer the question and to practice
language more freely as in.

Information Gap Activities , Jigsaw Activities or Discussions aside from this we can offer them
topics that interest them ,and prepare Ss to speak, also reduce the TTT and encrease the STT
last but not least sometimes it is ideal to act as promters instead of overcottering students
when not necessary as in fluency activites
