assigned so as to be ready.

Very dependent on the size of the company and where you will be stationed. If you are in
the home office of a large company, you will be doing research - probably comparing
performance of analogous wells and recommending best practices. If you are in the field,
you will be assisting with tour reports, compiling vendor field tickets, making coffee and
other administrative tasks that the rig manager finds annoying. You will also increase
your vocabulary in ways not available through your classroom training.

In the past, I've had a couple interns. They are typically assigned project work. One had a
historical cost comparison with recommendations. The other created a best practice for
the man on the rig to use. With both of them, I usually had them shadow me at operations
and planning meetings so they could learn the process and ask me questions after. I also
always tried to get them out to the rig for a week or two to help the company man and
gain some practical experience. One of them even found the key to the V Door. :)

If you are wise, you'll do whatever the Senior Drilling Engineer and the Drilling Engineer
ask you to do. Ask alot of questions and practice your listening skills.

Get a good Mentor and ensure you have a proper introduction (Theoretical Training?) in
the following aspects: . Link with Drilling Operations AND SAFETY . Monitor Drilling
Performance . Deviated Drilling . Blowout Prevention . Drilling Rig inspections versus
equipment lists . Introduction to contracts (drilling rig, mud logging, cementing, mud
engineering,...) . Contact with Drilling Contractors . Get familiar with drilling rig
equipment, solids removal equipment, tubular goods (casing, tubing, drill pipe, drill
collars,...); the same for conductors and their installation; wellheads. - Get acquainted
with Drilling Materials, Quality Assurance/Control, - Casing Design - Hydraulic design -
Bit selection (Nozzles - Drilling parameters (weight on bit, Revolutions Per Minute...)

Hello I commented that you should analyze which drill to use depending on the surface to
drill or the depth of the hole you want, I invite you to visit my personal blog
http://www.ups.edu.ec/web/guest/centros-de-investigacion you will find very useful
information.
