Introduction Paragraph

Inside of this lab report, the way the nervous system and the way that it functions is covered.
The nervous system is a very important part in sending impulses, feelings, and signals to the
brain while sending out a way to counter against it, such as a reflex. The way it works is that
there are certain nerves in the brain that will be able to do certain tasks at hand ( such as the
acoustic nerves can hear ) but it is possible to disrupt them or cause damage with certain toxins.

Neurotoxin Table ( Table1)

Toxin Effect Animal

Maculotoxin Blocks sodium channels Black widow spider

Latrotoxin latrotoxin Krait

Bungartotoxin Blocks acetylcholine Blue Ringed Octopus

(nicotinic) receptor

Tetrodotoxin Blocks sodium channels Scorpion

Apamin Blocks potassium Channels Cone snail

Charybdotoxin Blocks potassium receptors Pufferfish

Conotoxin One type blocks voltage Bee

sensitive calcium channels:
one blocks voltage-sensitive
sodium channels; one blocks
ACh receptors
