Hermetically sealed chillers have the drive-motor inside.
Inrush load is a concern

8. In the Phase section, select the appropriate phase configuration. Example:
It is recommended to balance single-phase loads for the best generator performance.

QuickSize considers phase balance in its calculation for generator sizing.
9. In the Sizing section, select the desired sizing unit of measure. Example:

10. In the blank field, enter the load. Example: 20
The selected configuration in this example is 20 tons.
11. Click to validate the information.
Model Search
The system shows that the load is added to the sizing application. QuickSize shows a
cumulative value for all loads added to the program.

Incandescent Lighting Load
Resistive load (filament) that heats up and produces light.

Only enter the Running kW
Fluorescent Lighting Load
Glowing gas in the tube, activated by electronic current and controlled by the
Ballast.
Ballast - All fluorescent lights need a Ballast.
High-efficiency magnetic ballast is the old style and not common on new
construction. Characteristics: Noisy (the buzz) and prone to flickering.
Electronic Ballast is solid-state electronic circuitry to provide the proper starting
and operating electrical condition to power a fluorescent lamp. Advantage: Noise
and flickering are reduced.
Select as Default if Ballast type is not known
Running PF default at 1.0
Low Distortion Electronic is a new style Ballast, not as common as Electronic
Ballast.
With Low Distortion Electronic type ballast, harmonic distortion can

be ignored in QuickSize
Note: For Electronic Ballast type, we assume it is of the general
type and account for 32% ITHD in QuickSize

all have similar start, run and surge characteristics. They have high surge requirements
at the time of imaging and are very sensitive to voltage dip, which affects image
quality.

If the system tells you that no generator sets were found to meet your requirements,
check the following and redo the search:
Check that the voltage/frequency/connection combination is available.

Change the minimum/maximum allowed loading.
Increase the allowed alternator temperature rise.
Increase the maximum voltage or frequency dip.
Increase the maximum Vthd.

Add a Load Step
1. Click to open the Add Load Step information window.
Add Load Step
The default Max Voltage Dip value is linked to the value entered when you loaded
your generator set options.
Max Voltage Dip (%): R Maximum allowable voltage dip in percent.

Description: R Load step number. This field entry is generated by QuickSize.

Move a Load to a Different Load Step
The process for moving loads or steps is the same. The only difference is the
highlighted item.
Model Search
1. Highlight the appropriate load. Example:
Selecting a load listed under Load Step #1 activates the button.
