 There were many apparitions that occurred in Medjugorje, Fatima, and in the book Left

To Tell. All three places involved Mary coming down to earth and communicating with someone.

Medjugorje is a town located in the Herzegovina region of Bosnia and Herzegovina,

around 25 km (16 mi) southwest of Mostar and close to the border of Croatia (Informativni

Centar). This is where the Virgin Mary has been appearing for the last 30 years. People that

travel here are drug addicts as shown in the video, or people trying to develop a better

relationship with Mary and Jesus Christ. Mary has been making monthly appearances since

January 25, 1987. Marija Lunetti is the one of the women in Medjugorje who can see and

communicate with Mary. She helps almost everyone in Medjugorje keep contact with Mary on a

regular basis. Mary comes back every 25th of the month so people that are not present can still

receive Marys words. Mary will also come down every 2nd day of the month to give a message

and pray for non- believers of Mary and the Catholic religion. Mary has been coming down to

earth since August 2, 1987 and her visionary is Mirjana Soldo. Our Lady has been walking the

earth since Pentecost which was two thousand years ago. Mirjana has even been kissed by Mary

before. Many people believe that Medjugorje is heaven on earth.

Fatima and Medjugorje relate because of why people go there and why so many people

travel here. People that come to Fatima are either people trying to develop a better relationship

with Christ and Mary or drug addicts trying to recover. Mary is referred to as Our Lady of

Fatima, based on apparitions that were seen by three shepherd children at Ftima. The three

childrens names were Lcia Santos and her cousins Jacinta and Francisco Marto. Ftima is a

civil parish in the municipality of Ourm, in the Portuguese Santarm District. The population in

2011 was 11,596, in an area of 71.84 km. The parish encompasses several villages and localities

of which Ftima, with a population of 7,756 residents, is the largest. Part of the urban
agglomeration of Leiria, it is 187 km south of Porto and 123 km north of Lisbon (Wikipedia).

The first apparition occurred in 1916 where three children were playing in a field with their

sheep. When it started raining outside the kids went in a cave and ate their lunch, then started

praying the rosary. The sun then came out and in in the middle of the light was the Angel of

Peace. The Angel of Peace said, Fear not! I am the Angel of Peace. Pray with me! The angel

knelt on the ground and bowed very low. The children imitated the angel and repeated his words

three times: My God, I believe, I adore, I hope, and I love You. I beg pardon of You for those

who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope, and do not love You. Then he rose and said: Pray

this way. The Hearts of Jesus and Mary are attentive to the voice of your supplications. The last

apparition occurred on October 13, 1917 I do not want anything more. (Fatima apparitions).

Many people travel to Fatima and Medjugorje to feel the power of Mary and to be blessed and

feel safe in her arms. Finally, many people travel to places like Fatima to get a better

understanding of their religion and to see Mary come down to earth.

In the story Left To Tell Immaculee Ilibagiza has a pretty strong relationship with Mary.

When Immaculee Ilibagiza is scared for her life she prays to Mary and God to protect her. When

she is in the bathroom at Pastor Murinzis house she prays for seven hours so the Hutu

Extremists do not kill her. She prays for Mary and God to watch over her, and to make sure the

Interhamwe do not find her. Also, when she is outside she tells Mary to get her to the French

camps which are safe and away from the Hutus trying to kill her. Eventually, Ilibagiza reaches

the safe camp and is back to normal life. Finally, Ilibagiza spends most of her days praying and

trying to find the rest of her family. Immaculee Ilibagiza has a strong relationship both with God

and Mary, they are the main reason why Ilibagiza survived the Rwandan Genocide.
 Mary is in many peoples lives to them from spirits or people that could harm them. Mary

is in Ilibagizas life as shown in the book, but also in many peoples lives in Medjugorje and

Fatima. The apparitions in Medjugorje, Fatima, and in Left To Tell show that Mary and Jesus are

real, and that there is a new life after you die.
