Unit 5 Timed Write Essay

Your Essay Must include:


- 5 paragraphs in MLA Format
- At least 3 pieces of evidence from the novel
- Turn in your essay with the attached rubric stapled on top with
your name on it.

Final essay is due STAPLED to these instructions by the end of class.

Essay Overview: Analyze scenes, characters, lines of dialogue and symbols in the novel. Then, choose one of
the following prompts to write a 5-paragraph essay: Use your book and the notes from your Lit Circles to guide
you.

1) What are the central themes in your novel and what can audiences learn from your book?

2) How does your book advance the positive representation of LGBT people? How does it contribute to
disrupting the single story of LGBT people?

3) How do the characters in your book come of age? What lessons do they learn? Write a review of the
book.
