TITLE: Separating mixtures

STARTER
5 minutes Students will give examples of substances that dissolve good in water. Students will watch a video
about how to separate sand and salt.

Ask children to suggest and try out how they could get marbles or sand back from the mixture with water. Discuss with the children why marbles can be
separated from water by coarse sieves but sand cannot.
