The Government Regulation Number 27 of 2012 (Regulation) regarding Environmental License was issued on 23
February 2012 by the government of Indonesia, which outlines the requirement for a business or activity in Indonesia
having an impact on the environment, to obtain an approval on Environmental Impact Assessment (AMDAL) or UKL-
UPL, whichever is applicable, and further obtain an Environment License.
The application for an Environment License should be made in writing to the Minister, Governor, or Regent / Mayor
depending upon the area of the activity, and should be submitted along with the request for AMDAL or UKL-UPL
Assessment.
The Environment License shall be issued by the Minister, Governor, Regent / Mayor, as the case may be, at the
same time during the issuance of the Decree of Amdal worthiness (Amdal approval) or UKL-UPL Recommendation.
