 Apparitions in Medjugorje

Marian apparitions are sightings of the Virgin Mary in her ghostly form. Throughout the

last hundred years or so, multiple remarkable apparitions have occurred all over the world giving

insight on future events and things us, humans here on earth, should be doing. For example,

Medjugorje has been a popular spot for tourism because of the miracles that occur there. Also,

Our Lady Fatima and the wonders that happened are still talked about today.

To begin, Medjugorje is a spiritual place visited to have someones faith restored or to

feel the Blessed Mothers presence. Missionaries and Christians from all over the world go to

Medjugorje. Because of the message displayed there, mostly only Christians go there, unless a

non-believer goes to Medjugorje to try to have confidence in God. This is a place where about 40

million people have visited since 1981 to find their faith. It is said to be a place to be spiritually

strengthened and transformed. Here, you can read the messages from which came straight from

Mary herself. Medjugorje is a small village in Bosnia-Hercegovina. It is close to Croatia and it

means between the mountains because of its location. Although there have been multiple

Marian apparitions in the past, Medjugorje was a fan favorite place of Marys messages about

peace, prosperity, and other mystery things. The Blessed Virgin Mary appears to spread His

word. The messages are assembled like a mosaic and spoken to the visionaries.

Then, another place where the Virgin Mary spoke to humans about the word of God was

at Fatima. Three children, Lucia Dos Santos and Francisco and Jacinta Marto, were with their

sheep when it started raining, on a normal spring day. They went into the cave to stay dry when

the Angel of Peace appeared. We were left with the messages in Fatima. The Queen of Peace

continued to come to leave messages. The main point in the messages was to pray. This

happened in the spring of 1917 first. Then, she appeared again in the summer. Then, the third
apparition happened in the fall of the same year. The apparitions happened in the village of

Fatima and Cabeco. Fatima is in Portugal. It is a small, rocky place. Our Lady Fatima trained

children to spread the message of God. Most importantly, they must become the envois of the

Mary. This was to adore the Lord for what He did.

Connecting this to class, Our Lady Fatima and Medjugorje are related to Left to Tell.

Immaculee Ilibagiza had a special relationship with Mary, the mother of God. Ilibagiza was a

devout Catholic and grew up praying with her family, going to church, and learning about God.

But when she had to look the devil in the face when she was in the bathroom of the Pastors

house during the genocide, she became closer to God. She would spend her time praying or

sleeping, most of the time praying. During tough times, people turn to God. Ilibagiza turned to

God and prayed, but, in particular, she prayed to Mary. Ilibagiza said on page 6, I especially

loved the Virgin Mary, believing that she was my second mom, watching out for m from

heaven, (Ilibagiza 6). Immaculee Ilibagiza formed a special relationship and received messages

from Mary, herself, just like the visionaries in Fatima and Medjugorje.

All in all, Marian apparitions have influenced our lives. Medjugorje has shaped the lives

of hundreds of thousands of lives today by showing that God is real or showing just ow much

love He has for us. Our Lady Fatima gave us a look into the future and tried to shape us to be

better and pray. Lastly, these Marian apparitions tied back to the Rwandan genocide with

Immaculee Ilibagiza. The visionaries and Ilibagiza experienced similar events in faith. Our Lady

Fatima said, Pray, pray a great deal and make many sacrifices, for many souls go to Hell

because they have no one to make sacrifices and pray for them,.
