Conceptual Framework Reflection

THINKING SKILLS
This was hands down the hardest class I have ever taken in my life!
When I initially decided to go back to school for my Masters, I chose a
Masters of Art in Education with an emphasis in math. Administration
at the school where I teach expressed to me that it would be desirable
for me to become the SPED math person at our school, so this seemed
like an obvious path to take.

As I was registering for classes online, I was unable to do so, because I

didnt have the prerequisites to do so. Upon calling the registrars of-
fice, I was told that .as long as you read the book, youll be fine.
Needless to say, I was NOT fine! I had never taken Calculus or Statis-
tics before, and halfway through the first unit, I realized I was in over
my head!

I talked with Dr. Stack (my advisor at the time), and it was offered to
me that I could drop the class with an incomplete, and take it at a later
time. After conversing with my husband, we decided I would continue
through with the class, and utilize the help of my husband (an engi-
neer), and tutors.

There were a lot of tears and late nights put into the class, but with the
help of everyone, I was able to muscle through the class, and finished
with a B. I changed my degree to Curriculum and Instruction, with
an emphasis in Secondary Mathwhich is much more suited for me!
