Activity 4 Context Explanation of Structure for Unit 7 2-3 minutes

In Unit 7, you will self-select one work of


nonfiction that focuses on one social
justice issue:
Hunger in America
Environmentalism
Americas judicial system
You will be placed into small groups
with 3-4 other students who elected to
read the same text
Together, you will create a reading
schedule and participate in periodic
literature circle discussions
After reading your text, you will
complete a social justice project to
positively impact communities affected
by these issues

Visit Google Classroom and go to the

Click on the Google Form survey link
Read the short summary for each of
your nonfiction options
You can visit the links and read more
reviews and check out the book on

Complete the survey by selecting your
book and offering a rationale for why
you are interested in reading it
