This initiative aims to install the right mix of employees in tourism-related

the province to ensure an excellent travel experience for the tourists.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
General Manager General managers play a key role in every restaurant. They are responsible for hiring,
firing, and training employees, overseeing general restaurant activities, and working on
marketing and community outreach strategies. They may also help to set menu prices and
purchase supplies.
Assistant Manager Second in command, but not less important, assistant managers are essential for every
busy restaurant. They assist the manager with training duties, help with decision making,
and fill in if the manager has the day off.

Line Cook Although the duties differ depending upon the establishment, line cooks can be found in
most restaurants, excluding fast food. A line cook may be responsible for one or multiple
areas of the kitchen, such as the grill or fryer, depending upon the size and scale of the
restaurant.

Dishwasher Essential members of any restaurant staff, dishwashers are not only responsible for
making sure dishware is spotless, but they must also keep the kitchen clean and clear of
garbage and hazardous clutter.
Drive-Thru Operator When customers want food in a hurry, drive-thru operators must use active listening skills
to ensure customer satisfaction. They are responsible for providing friendly customer
service while using the cash register, taking orders, and delivering the food through the
window.
Fast Food Cook Like the name suggests, fast food cooks must be able to prepare orders in a timely
fashion. They work with equipment such as deep fryers, grills, and sandwich makers.
Sometimes they may have to serve customers at their tables or at the drive-thru window.

Cashier Like the drive-thru operator, cashiers must accurately record a customers order and
handle cash to process the transaction. Cashiers must be able to listen when customers
have problems or concerns with their orders and respond to their questions appropriately.

Short Order Cook Short order cooks can be found in diners and fast casual eateries, serving up quick recipes
like breakfast foods, sandwiches and burgers, and even salads. They must be able to work
quickly and competently, as well as prepare several orders at once.
Barista At any coffee shop or caf there is a barista making your favorite drinks. Baristas are
responsible for preparing any number of specialty coffee, tea, and smoothie drinks, made-
to-order for customers in a hurry.

Kitchen Manager Like general managers, kitchen managers are responsible for hiring and firing employees,
buying supplies and ingredients, and ensuring quality. However, a general manager
controls both kitchen employees and front of house employees, whereas a kitchen
manager only manages operations behind kitchen doors.

Food and Beverage Manager Some restaurants employ a food and beverage manager to manage inventory, ensure that
the kitchen is compliant with health codes, and create drink menus that pair well with
entrees. Food and beverage managers may also be put in charge of some dining room
responsibilities, such as creating schedules for servers.

Server A good server can make or break the customer experience. Responsible for taking orders
in a friendly manner, reporting orders to the kitchen, and calculating the bill, servers play

Server/Waiter A good server can make or break the customer


experience. Responsible for taking orders in a
friendly manner, reporting orders to the kitchen,
and calculating the bill, servers play an
essential role in any casual or fine dining
restaurant.
Busser/Busboy Facilitate food service. Clean tables, remove

POSITION DESCRIPTION
GENERAL MANAGER The General Manager oversees all aspects of the
hotel operations including: guest relations, front
desk, housekeeping, maintenance, finances,
team building, and staff development. The
General Manager must possess strong
communication skills, both verbal and written,
and demonstrate outstanding leadership. The
manager must be able to delegate
responsibilities, organize complex projects, and
establish priorities consistent with hotel
objectives.

ASST. GENERAL MANAGER The Assistant General Manager position will


support the General Manager with all aspects of
the hotel operations. The Assistant General
Manager must also demonstrate strong
communication skills and superior leadership
abilities.

FRONT OFFICE MANAGER The Front Office Manager is responsible for all
duties of the front desk operation which
includes: staff training, inter-department
communications, and staff scheduling. The FOM
usually works a regularly scheduled front desk
shift and must be available to work any shift as
needed. The Front Office Manager should
possess strong communication skills and
demonstrate leadership abilities.
CONCIERGE The concierge is available to answer any guest
inquires regarding the city, events, and
attractions. This individual will provide
exceptional customer service to all of our guests
and will support other departments including
Sales, Front Office, and Bellman/Van, as needed.

GUEST SERVICE AGENT/ Assist patrons at hotel, apartment, or office


GUEST RELATIONS OFFICER building with personal services. May take
messages, arrange or give advice on
transportation, business services or
entertainment, or monitor guest requests for
housekeeping and maintenance.

SECURITY The Security position will encompass aspects of


both the Night Audit and Front Desk positions as
well as overseeing the safety and security of the
hotel and guests throughout the evening hours.
Additional responsibilities include: conducting
security walks throughout the hotel property
and responding to guest requests and any noise
complaints. Security agents must be able to
problem solve and troubleshoot in order to
resolve guest issues and respond appropriately
to emergency situations.

VAN DRIVER/BELLMAN Handle baggage for travelers at transportation


terminals or for guests at hotels or similar
establishments..
SALES MANAGER The Sales Manager assists the Director of Sales
to increase corporate client base through
consistent solicitations while establishing trust
and rapport with clients to generate and boost
revenues for the hotel. The Sales Manager
services new and existing accounts to ensure
repeat business. This position requires excellent
communication skills, both written and verbal.

Food and Beverage Manager Some restaurants employ a food and beverage
manager to manage inventory, ensure that the
kitchen is compliant with health codes, and
create drink menus that pair well with entrees.
Food and beverage managers may also be put
in charge of some dining room responsibilities,
such as creating schedules for servers.

EXECUTIVE HOUSEKEEPER The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for all


duties of the housekeeping operation and
cleanliness levels in all areas of the property.
Responsibilities include: staff training, inter-
department communications, and staff
scheduling. The Executive Housekeeper will
promote an atmosphere that insures the
company mission statement, Friendliness and
Cleanliness. This position requires strong
attention to detail, leadership skills, and the
ability to effectively deal with department
heads, guests, and team members.
HOUSEPERSON The Houseperson is responsible for maintaining
the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel and
providing customers with quality service in a
timely and friendly manner. Responsibilities vary
but may include: cleaning and maintaining the
appearance of the public areas of the hotel,
deep cleaning of assigned areas, setting-up and
maintaining complimentary hotel lobby
functions including the coffee service and
nightly concierge events, cleaning and setting-
up meeting room functions, restocking
housekeeping stations, delivering service items
to guest rooms upon requests from the front
desk, and driving shuttle van when needed.

ROOM ATTENDANT Room Attendants are responsible for the


cleanliness of guest rooms, hallways, and public
areas in the hotel. Responsibilities include:
servicing guest rooms daily in accordance with
hotel procedures, stocking cart with room
supplies, and replacing bed linens and
replenishing guest room supplies. This position
requires strong attention to detail, ability to
communicate effectively with guests and team
members verbally or in written form, and the
ability to bend, lift, and be standing or walking
all day.
CHIEF MAINTENANCE ENGINEER The Chief Maintenance Engineer is responsible
for maintaining the overall operation of the
maintenance department and the appearance
and working order of the hotel. The engineer
must be able to work independently, as well as,
with others. Responsibilities may include:
maintaining the exterior of the building, parking
lot, and common areas, driving shuttle van as
needed, maintaining all equipment in guest
rooms, conducting monthly safety inspections
and training the staff on safety and emergency
procedures, and working with vendors. The
Chief Maintenance Engineer must be willing to
respond to emergencies, even if after hours, and
work with corporate maintenance on special
remodeling projects or capital expenditure
needs. This position requires overall
maintenance knowledge and trouble shooting
ability with skills in painting, HVAC, carpentry,
equipment, and tool usage.

ASSISTANT MAINTENANCE The Assistant Maintenance Engineer supports


the Chief Engineer in maintaining overall
appearance and working order of the hotel. This
position must be able to work independently as
well as with others. The Assistant maintenance
position requires overall maintenance
knowledge and trouble shooting ability with
skills in painting, HVAC, carpentry, equipment,

Head Cook Direct and may participate in the preparation,

POSITION DESCRIPTION
GENERAL MANAGER The General Manager oversees all aspects of the
hotel operations including: guest relations, front
desk, housekeeping, maintenance, finances,
team building, and staff development. The
General Manager must possess strong
communication skills, both verbal and written,
and demonstrate outstanding leadership. The
manager must be able to delegate
responsibilities, organize complex projects, and
establish priorities consistent with hotel
objectives.

ASST. GENERAL MANAGER The Assistant General Manager position will


support the General Manager with all aspects of
the hotel operations. The Assistant General
Manager must also demonstrate strong
communication skills and superior leadership
abilities.

FRONT OFFICE MANAGER The Front Office Manager is responsible for all
duties of the front desk operation which
includes: staff training, inter-department
communications, and staff scheduling. The FOM
usually works a regularly scheduled front desk
shift and must be available to work any shift as
needed. The Front Office Manager should
possess strong communication skills and
demonstrate leadership abilities.
CONCIERGE The concierge is available to answer any guest
inquires regarding the city, events, and
attractions. This individual will provide
exceptional customer service to all of our guests
and will support other departments including
Sales, Front Office, and Bellman/Van, as needed.

GUEST SERVICE AGENT/ Assist patrons at hotel, apartment, or office


GUEST RELATIONS OFFICER building with personal services. May take
messages, arrange or give advice on
transportation, business services or
entertainment, or monitor guest requests for
housekeeping and maintenance.

SECURITY The Security position will encompass aspects of


both the Night Audit and Front Desk positions as
well as overseeing the safety and security of the
hotel and guests throughout the evening hours.
Additional responsibilities include: conducting
security walks throughout the hotel property
and responding to guest requests and any noise
complaints. Security agents must be able to
problem solve and troubleshoot in order to
resolve guest issues and respond appropriately
to emergency situations.

VAN DRIVER/BELLMAN Handle baggage for travelers at transportation


terminals or for guests at hotels or similar
establishments..
SALES MANAGER The Sales Manager assists the Director of Sales
to increase corporate client base through
consistent solicitations while establishing trust
and rapport with clients to generate and boost
revenues for the hotel. The Sales Manager
services new and existing accounts to ensure
repeat business. This position requires excellent
communication skills, both written and verbal.

Food and Beverage Manager Some restaurants employ a food and beverage
manager to manage inventory, ensure that the
kitchen is compliant with health codes, and
create drink menus that pair well with entrees.
Food and beverage managers may also be put
in charge of some dining room responsibilities,
such as creating schedules for servers.

EXECUTIVE HOUSEKEEPER The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for all


duties of the housekeeping operation and
cleanliness levels in all areas of the property.
Responsibilities include: staff training, inter-
department communications, and staff
scheduling. The Executive Housekeeper will
promote an atmosphere that insures the
company mission statement, Friendliness and
Cleanliness. This position requires strong
attention to detail, leadership skills, and the
ability to effectively deal with department
heads, guests, and team members.
HOUSEPERSON The Houseperson is responsible for maintaining
the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel and
providing customers with quality service in a
timely and friendly manner. Responsibilities vary
but may include: cleaning and maintaining the
appearance of the public areas of the hotel,
deep cleaning of assigned areas, setting-up and
maintaining complimentary hotel lobby
functions including the coffee service and
nightly concierge events, cleaning and setting-
up meeting room functions, restocking
housekeeping stations, delivering service items
to guest rooms upon requests from the front
desk, and driving shuttle van when needed.

ROOM ATTENDANT Room Attendants are responsible for the


cleanliness of guest rooms, hallways, and public
areas in the hotel. Responsibilities include:
servicing guest rooms daily in accordance with
hotel procedures, stocking cart with room
supplies, and replacing bed linens and
replenishing guest room supplies. This position
requires strong attention to detail, ability to
communicate effectively with guests and team
members verbally or in written form, and the
ability to bend, lift, and be standing or walking
all day.
CHIEF MAINTENANCE ENGINEER The Chief Maintenance Engineer is responsible
for maintaining the overall operation of the
maintenance department and the appearance
and working order of the hotel. The engineer
must be able to work independently, as well as,
with others. Responsibilities may include:
maintaining the exterior of the building, parking
lot, and common areas, driving shuttle van as
needed, maintaining all equipment in guest
rooms, conducting monthly safety inspections
and training the staff on safety and emergency
procedures, and working with vendors. The
Chief Maintenance Engineer must be willing to
respond to emergencies, even if after hours, and
work with corporate maintenance on special
remodeling projects or capital expenditure
needs. This position requires overall
maintenance knowledge and trouble shooting
ability with skills in painting, HVAC, carpentry,
equipment, and tool usage.

ASSISTANT MAINTENANCE The Assistant Maintenance Engineer supports


the Chief Engineer in maintaining overall
appearance and working order of the hotel. This
position must be able to work independently as
well as with others. The Assistant maintenance
position requires overall maintenance
knowledge and trouble shooting ability with

HOUSEPERSON The Houseperson is responsible for maintaining
the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel and
providing customers with quality service in a
timely and friendly manner. Responsibilities
vary but may include: cleaning and maintaining
the appearance of the public areas of the hotel,
deep cleaning of assigned areas, setting-up and
maintaining complimentary hotel lobby
functions including the coffee service and
nightly concierge events, cleaning and setting-
up meeting room functions, restocking
housekeeping stations, delivering service items
to guest rooms upon requests from the front
desk, and driving shuttle van when needed.

ROOM ATTENDANT Room Attendants are responsible for the


cleanliness of guest rooms, hallways, and public
areas in the hotel. Responsibilities include:
servicing guest rooms daily in accordance with
hotel procedures, stocking cart with room
supplies, and replacing bed linens and
replenishing guest room supplies. This position
requires strong attention to detail, ability to
communicate effectively with guests and team
members verbally or in written form, and the
ability to bend, lift, and be standing or walking
all day.
ASSISTANT MAINTENANCE The Assistant Maintenance Engineer supports
the Chief Engineer in maintaining overall
appearance and working order of the hotel. This
position must be able to work independently as
well as with others. The Assistant maintenance
position requires overall maintenance
knowledge and trouble shooting ability with
skills in painting, HVAC, carpentry, equipment,
and tool usage.

GENERAL MANAGER The General Manager oversees all aspects of the

ASST. GENERAL MANAGER The Assistant General Manager position will


support the General Manager with all aspects of

HR Manager The recruitment work along with amorous care


of the calculation of the salaries of the resort
employees and maintaining track of the
attendance of the employees and many more
such duties are employed by an HR manager.
Chef Direct and may participate in the preparation,

Salon Manager Reporting to the salon owner, a salon manager
provides orientation to the salon staff,
explaining operational procedures and functions,
which are based on company policy. The
manager works with staff members to improve
performance and ensure quality service while
maintaining cleanliness and customer
satisfaction. In cooperation with the salon
owner, the manager also analyzes personnel
records, requisitions supplies, participates in
disciplinary procedures and assists in resolving
customer complaints

Stylists and Technicians Hairstylists, nail technicians, color specialists,


estheticians, trichologists and makeup artists
commonly work as peers within a salon,
reporting to the manager, though some
organizations have senior and junior-level
stylists or technicians, based on experience or
tenure. Each performs his own specialty service
and recommends the services his peers provide,
as his customers require.
Receptionist A salon receptionist reports to the salon's
manager and answers the telephone, schedules
appointments, greets customers, explains
services to callers and visitors, and operates a
cash register. Because the receptionist is usually
the first person a customer encounters at the
salon, she is responsible for creating a
comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. For this
reason, she is held accountable for the entire
reception area, including its arrangement,
organization and cleanliness.

Salon Assistant The salon assistant provides additional support


to the staff through taking responsibility for
laundry, handling retail sales, sterilizing
equipment, sweeping floors and even preparing
clients for services. Client preparations that a
salon assistant may execute without possessing
a cosmetology license include offering a salon
robe, draping for services or even shampooing
