Task 1: Proposal
Task 2: Pre-production material
Task 3: Filming
Task 4: Editing
Interest in the subject, this was given to our group as an idea and our group
decided to go with it due to the interest in the topic at hand. We also feel that this
topic is not covered enough and should have more exposure and more interest to
take place and to help support the issue more than it previously is.
Length of production
Interviewees in production
We will interview various people in the production, this will range from the people
who are using the service to help them with their lifestyle and the people who
work there so it gives the viewer an understanding of both sides and helps to
show the viewer the full progress of the deliveries and social action.
We will take this in a way that will make the viewer sympathetic for the people
that struggle with not being able to eat and make the food themselves. This will
be done through asking questions about their life and helping to make them tell
their sad stories to the camera this will help to make the viewer feel sorry for
them and will also give the social action an interesting angle of supporting an
issue that you feel bad about it will directly impact the viewer and help to make
them possibly support the issue themselves.
Middle:
This will be us exploring the company and looking around and interview various
people on their thoughts and opinions on certain things revolving around the
company. This will be interviews of the elderly and people who work there again
to help use get an understanding of both sides of the issue and giving their
thoughts on the meals on wheels program. Again we will use questions that
provoke sadness to the viewer this is best as it makes the viewer feel for the
people in the video and gives them a reason to support the problem or be aware
of it.
End:
This will end with us giving the final interviews and will show the end of the day
happening, this gives the viewer closure on the problem and will be a nice way of
rounding the video off. We also may add In the editing process a link to where you
can donate or give a way of helping to support the company as a whole and pitch
in your bit of help for them.
The target audience is of varying ages from ages of 15 up to 90. This is done as
younger people can be aware of these programs and then possible help by being
a volunteer for the organization or recommend it to one of their friends. Then I will
also target it to older people, this is done to possibly show them that they can use
this service and also be aware of it in case they maybe need this service at some
point in the future and more people can be informed of these services.

PRODUCTION TIPS:
Make sure there is no background noise when filming - ask to turn off all machines or film
in a quiet location and if outside try and use a wind cover and microphone.
Use TWO cameras when filming - One following the interviewer and one following you as
you had with your multi camera unit
Get MORE footage than you need - you can always cut items out but you can't add once
you have filmed
Think about how you want the final product to look before you start filming
Add archive footage (clips, newspaper clippings, footage from news stories etc...) but
ALWAYS reference them on screen and make sure you have permission to use them
Once filming is finished make sure the following is complete BEFORE you start
to edit your production
