History of McDonald's

1937 - The founder

McDonald's is originally found by McDonald's brothers dick McDonald and


Mac McDonald they are american restaurateurs and entrepreneurs...

They started it in Monrovia, California when their father Patrick McDonald's


opened "The Airdrome" a hotdog stand.. Hotdogs is their original first ever
item or product sold on that years..

1940 - Re-Locate in San Bernardino

After 3yrs McDonald Brothers re locate the whole building in san


Bernardino California. And open the new restaurant with the new name
McDonald's bar b que It was typical drive in featuring a large menu mostly
bar b que and they haves also carhop service
1948 - McDonald's Hamburger

In October 1948, after the McDonald brothers realized that most of their
profits came from selling hamburgers, they closed down their successful
carhop drive-in to establish a streamlined system with a simple menu of
just hamburgers, potato chips, and orange juice. The following year, French
fries and Coca-Cola were added to the menu.

1955: Mc Donalds First franchise

Businessman Ray Kroc joined the company as a franchise agent in 1955


and subsequently purchased the chain from the McDonald brothers.

He opened his restaurant in Des Plaines, Illinois,

He founded McDonalds System, Inc., a predecessor of the McDonalds


Corporation. After more years McDonalds spread globally many countries
had their first McDonald including. The Philippines
1981 : First McDonald's in the Philippines

It was in 1981 when George T. Yang opened the first-ever McDonalds


restaurant in the Philippines. The historic restaurant still stands on its
original location in Morayta, Manila.

It become nationwide when they also open in visayas and Mindanao in


1992. They brings its food and convenience closer to every Filipino

Today : 2017

Today McDonald's is one of the most leading fast-food Chain with more
than 36,000 restaurants worldwide in 119 countries.. and here in the
Philippines more than 500 restaurants With President and Chief Executive
Officer Kenneth S. Yang at the helm, McDonalds is now a multibillion-Peso
company that continues to serve Filipinos all over the country
McDonald's primarily sells hamburgers, cheeseburgers, chicken products,
french fries, breakfast items, drinks, milkshake , wraps, and desserts

STRENGTH

STANDARDIZED OPERATIONS
If there is a standardized way of working you are less likely to make
mistakes, less likely to be blamed about them.

WEAKNESSES

UNHEALTHY FOODS

Their Menu contain unhealthy meals and drinks that provides more calories
than nutrition's.

Although McDonalds tries to update its menu by healthy criteria,


McDonalds
meals are still
unbalance.
For example,
there are
many dishes
with chicken
(both grilled and fried), bacon, beef, rib or egg. Besides, just several dishes
are salad with vegetable and fruit.

Moreover, amount of fruit or vegetable is not much.

HIGH PRICE PRODUCTS


McDonalds product's are higher than their competitors like for example the

Mushroom Pepper Steak of mcdo 50 pesos and the Pepper Cream Burger
Steak of jollibee.

OPPORTUNITIES

NEW EMERGING TECHNOLOGY

For example
installation of internet access terminals in some outlets, this will reduce the
amount of time between consumers orders.
Technology given McDonalds spending power. The business can afford to
invest new technology that keep them at the forefront of innovation.

GROWTH OF FAST-FOOD INDUSTRY

Fast-food industry continue to show sign of growth.

Today, almost people eat in fast food and major of them like fast food very
much.

THREATS

PUBLIC HEALTH CRISIS


If obesity continue to grow this will having an impact on consumer decision
to buy products of McDonald's because many consumer will choose to buy
healthy meal.
