I was born on September 19, 2000 in Rochester, New York.

My parents are Elizabeth

and Jeffrey Hurwitz. I don't have any memories of living in New York since I only lived there for

2 and a half years before we decided to move down to Florida. One of my first memories of

being in Florida was going to Maitland Farm and playing on the playground. After I turned four I

was enrolled into the Pre-K program at Saint Edward's school. I have been at Saint Edward's ever

since then with the exception of one year of moving to Orange County, California. After

California I moved back and I was re-enrolled in Saint Edwards and put into second grade.

One of my favorite things to do is performing such as acting, dancing, and singing. I got

introduced to two of my favorite things when I was in fourth grade which were acting and

dancing. I got introduced into acting by being in the Middle School play and I got introduced to

dancing by my neighbor. The last thing to get introduced to me was singing. I got introduced to it

by being in the sixth grade choir at St Eds. I ended up pursuing these hobbies and really got

more involved into them by doing as many plays and musicals as possible, joining a competition

dance team, continuing with choir, and being in the chamber choir and men's ensemble at school.

My Bar Mitzvah was one of the most important things that have ever happened to me.

The whole time leading up to my Bar Mitzvah I was never really was engaged in trying to learn

about my religion because I did not really care. It was boring. Having my Bar Mitzvah was like

a wake up call. I finally changed my thoughts about my religion because the experience was

really cool and it gave me a feeling of maturity and excitement. My Bar Mitzvah not only

affected my spiritual life but my everyday life.

Another really huge event in my life was going to Israel during the summer of 2016. I

went to Israel with my group from my sleepaway camp that I have been going to since I was

eight. Israel was a great experience for me. It taught me so much about my religion and also
about history. Another great thing about this trip was that it made me become more mature. It

made me more mature because I was overseas in the Middle East without my parents. Being

overseas it really different especially if you are by yourself. Granted, I did have three staff

members and all my friends but it's still a huge challenge and difference. I had to think about

money, food, and being prepared for the next day. Even though those are just three things it still

was different because I had to be independent. I'm really glad that I got to have this experience

because it taught me a lot of things that were important.

After getting back from Israel I had about two months until I would get my Driver's

License. When I got my license I was really excited because I finally got to do the things that I

wanted to do. I did not have to depend on another person to drive me so it made me more

independent. Another huge thing is that it made me more responsible because I had to be careful

because I was responsible for my own life and for other peoples lives who were in the car with

me.

On September 11, 2001 the United States experienced a terror attack in New York City.

The Islamic extremist group called al-Qaeda hijacked four planes and made suicide attacks

against places in the U.S. Two out of the four planes were flown into the World Trade Center in

NYC. Another plane was flown into the Pentagon and the fourth one crashed in a field in

Pennsylvania. This event affected my generation and many others by the safety measures airports

now take. Back before 9/11 airport security wasnt the most secure, but after this event there are

tons of safety measures being taken. Some of the regulations and things when have to do to fly

can be annoying but its all for a reason to keep us safe.1

On January 9, 2007 the first IPhone came out cause the telecommunications industry to

be changed forever. This affected my generation and many others because it was the first phone

to have everything be a touchscreen. The design was unlike any other phone at that time making

it the new huge thing everybody talked about. If people needed a new phone they would want the

new phone from Apple. The IPhone had a huge success considering that they are already in the

process of making the IPhone 8. Overall the IPhone has changed the way people use their phones

for forever.2

I can prove that I am the child of Elizabeth Villa Hurwitz by my birth certificate, Bar

Mitzvah certificate, my drivers license, and my passport. My birth certificate3 shows that I am

related to her because she signed it stating that she is my mother. The Bar Mitzvah certificate4 is

an official religious document that states Elizabeth Villa Hurwitz is my mother. She also signed

it. My drivers license5 is secondary evidence; Elizabeth Villa Hurwitz had to sign documents

stating she is my mother when I took drivers education and when I applied for the license. We

also share the same address, showing that we are definitely close relatives. I also have my

passport6 which shows we are related.

Elizabeth Ann Villa was born on March 11, 19697. She had one brother who is two years

older whose name is Ron Villa which they are still very close today. Elizabeth was brought up

Jewish and she was expected to have a Bat Mitzvah so she went to Hebrew and Sunday School

to prepare for it. Her Bat Mitzvah when she was 13 years old was one of the most important

events in her life. My mother was the first female in her family to have a Bat Mitzvah because up

until her generation women were not considered equal. She had her Bat Mitzvah party at a

rollerskating rink8.

The next significant event in my mothers life was her college graduation in 1991. The

years in high school leading up to was not easy for her. She had a hard time in school because

not everything made sense with her. That meant putting in the extra time to get good grades and

succeed which eventually led to her High School Graduation and then College. Elizabeth went to

Philadelphia University and she graduated having a Bachelor's Degree of Science (BS) in

Marketing9. Graduating college was a huge deal and it allowed her to know that she was ready to

go into the business world and be successful.

Lastly, the event my mother chose to highlight was her marriage in August 21, 1994. She

got married to Jeffrey Alan Hurwitz at the Hyatt Hotel in Rochester, New York10. She and my

father met at my summer camp when they were 16 years old11 and are still very close with their

camp friends today. My brother and I have been attending the same camp every summer since

we were eight years old, respectively.

The disaster of the Space Shuttle Challenger happened on January 28, 1986. After nine missions,

this being the tenth, it took off and was only in the air for 73 seconds before it exploded. This

happened because of the O-rings that held the parts together that would separate from the shuttle.

They determined that this had happened because it was a unusually cold morning and it made the

O-rings vulnerable to failure at low temperatures. NASA Ignored this and they went ahead with

the lunch anyway. This impacted my mother's generation because it left the nation in shock and

because everybody was confident that it would be successful because they thought that NASA

would not let people go up into space if things were not right. 12

Another event that impacted Beths generation was the Cold War that began in Europe

after World War II. The Soviet Union controlled half of Berlin and the United States, Britain, and

France controlled the other half of Berlin. This led to conflicts including Korea being split up

between north and south and the Cuban missile crisis. The cold war affected my mother's

generation mostly by the Cuban missile crises because of the possibility of a nuclear war so that

caused fear. If a nuclear war happened basically the world would have been destroyed.13

Elizabeth Villa Hurwitz is the child of Valerie Jean Price by her birth certificate, Hospital

Papers, Social Security Card, DVD about my Great grandmother's life, passport, and Driver's

License. Her Birth Certificate show that she is related to Valerie Jean Price because both there

names are on the document.14 The Hospital Papers shows that she is related to her by it stating

that Valerie Jean Price gave birth to Elizabeth Ann Villa. The Social Security Card shows it by

her having the same last name on it. With the DVD about my Great grandmother because Pauline

Numan Price said that has a daughter named Elizabeth Ann Villa. Also, her passport and driver's

license have the same name.

Valerie Jean Price was born on December 9, 1946 in Rochester, New York.15 Her parents

were Hyman and Pauline Price Hyman.16 While she was growing up she went to school and

temple because she was Jewish. After high school she went to the University of Brockport in

New York.17 After college she got a job as a Administrative Assistant.Valerie was married to

Joseph Villa in Rochester, New York on December 10, 1964.18 Valerie had two children, Ron

Villa and Elizabeth Villa. Valerie is currently living in Rochester, New York and she is retired.

The Vietnam War began on November 1, 1955 and ended April 30, 1975. The war

happened because the United States viewed that there could be a switch to communism in South

Vietnam, and they felt that the war was a way to prevent that from happening so they took action.

The Vietnam War affected my grandmother's generation because people were being drafted and

that took them away from their families and friends not knowing if they will ever see each other

again. It also affected the way the soldiers were treated when they were coming back from the

war. Normally people would be very happy and celebrate the soldiers who fought for their

country but since they were drafted people didn't care. The War made people have all sorts of

emotions on my grandmother's generation, especially the soldiers.19

NASA was founded on July 29, 1958 and it means National Aeronautics and Space

Administration. The establishment of NASA was a huge influence on my grandmother's

generation because with this organization they were finally going to start to learn more about

earth and what its past it. This made my grandmother's generation more curious and eager to

learn more about earth and space. This was a huge event because it made a lot of people more

interested in learning about these topics.20

Pauline Newman was born on March 28,1915 in Rajanka, Balarus.21 She came to the

United States by boat when she was six years old in 1921.22 Her family was able to emigrate to

the US because her father had an uncle living in Rochester, New York that arranged for papers

and sponsored passage for them to leave Europe.23 She was high school educated graduating at

the top of her class.24 She was actually accepted and enrolled into the University of Rochester in

1931 but had to withdrawal to help at her familys dairy business during the depression.25 The

money that she had saved from working to pay for her college education eventually was used to

pay bills. She was able to gain work experience working for free for an entire year in an office

for a manufacturer of ladies clothing. She needed the experience to try to gain a paying job. Two

years later she was able to start working and taking business classes. Pauline had four brothers

World War I began on July 28, 1914 and ended November 11, 1918. World War one

started because of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. This assassination caused

many reactions and events that led up to the start of World War I. World War I affected my great

grandmother's generation but specifically it affected my great grandmother because that's what

caused her to move to the United States of America.31

World War II started on September 1, 1939 and ended September 2 1945. World War II

started because Hitler invaded Poland from the west. Because of this action Hitler made Great

Britain and France declared war on Germany Causing the Soviet Union to invade Poland from

the East. World War II affected my great grandmother's generation, also her personally, because
