Prostate Cancer

Prostate is a gland in the male reproductive system. It makes semen which carries
sperm. Prostate Cancer is very slow growing cancer. However, as it is a metastatic
cancer, it is dangerous when it starts to spread to other organs. About 1 in 7 men
will be diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. However, the number of deaths was 20.1
per 100,000 men per year which means there is more than 98% of chance of living
out of Prostate Cancer. Some symptoms of Prostate Cancer includes:

Pain during urination

Blood in urine
Blood in semen
Loss of bladder control

For diagnosis of Prostate Cancer, doctors may have to go through a digital rectum
exam, which is a doctor inserting his hand inside the rectum to feel the prostate if
there is any abnormalities. Another way is to check your blood sample to check for
PSA which is produced in the prostate gland, and if there is a lot of it, it could be an
indication of Prostate Cancer. This method is called the Prostate-specific antigen
test. Some treatments for Prostate Cancer includes:

Surgery: Removes the entire prostate gland and some other tissues around
it
Radiation Therapy: Uses high energy rays to kill cancer cells
Cryosurgery: Use of extremely low temperature to freeze and kill cancer
cell.
There are no sure ways prevent Prostate Cancer, but some ways that you could
prevent it is by eating healthy, exercising regularly.
