WILL GET THE BEST BREXIT DEAL FOR
YOU?

Your vote at this election will decide who sits in the negotiating chair
for Britain: Theresa May or Jeremy Corbyn.

The EU wants the Brexit negotiations to begin on 19th June - just 11

days after the election. So whoever is Prime Minister will need to be
ready to enter some of the most important negotiations our country
has ever faced and get the best deal for Britain.

The outcome of these negotiations is central to everything. Our

economic security. Jobs in your area. The prices in our shops. The
success of small businesses across the country. Your standard of
living. Our schools, hospitals and public services. Control of our

Our nations and your family's future depend on getting Brexit right
and it wont be easy. We will have to negotiate with 27 EU countries to

escape from everything hes said and done in his 30 years in politics.
We cant let him get away with it. The fact is Jeremy Corbyn backed
the IRA, doesnt support NATO, wouldnt renew Trident, wants to
increase immigration and wants to massively increase taxes on
working families.

Health chiefs and politicians are

locked in a furious row over the
future of a major London hospital.

NHS bosses accuse Hammersmith

and Fulham council of scaring residents by spreading misinformation
of a closure plan for Charing Cross Hospital.

Imperial College Healthcare trust claims the Labour-run council has

spent significant sums of money fighting closure plans that do not
exist and breaching accuracy rules on publicity.

The row was sparked when the council sent a campaign letter and
poster to residents with its annual council tax demand. Locals were
urged to put the Save Charing Cross Hospital poster in their windows.

Today Imperial published a letter it has sent to council leader Steve

Cowan insisting there have never been any plans to close Charing
Cross Hospital.

It said that the sustainability and transformation plan (STP) for north-
west London gave a clear commitment not to reduce A&E or wider
services within the lifetime of the plan, which runs until April 2021.

A source at Imperial said: The letter [from the council] says Charing
Cross is closing. There is no plan to close it. There never has been.
That letter ... its scaring people.

The STP aims to save NHS cash and prevent unnecessary hospital
admissions. It proposes a 500 million shake-up including removing
critical care, blue-light ambulances and potentially all surgery from
Ealing Hospital, which is run by London North West Healthcare trust.

It excludes Imperials hospitals from the first phase of change.

This is due to uncertainty around the redevelopment of St Marys

Hospital. The STP promises no changes at Charing Cross until out-of-
hospital services are in place to enable more patients to be treated at
home.

A total of 3,289 people were seen at Charing Crosss A&E last month,
almost 500 more than in February last year.

Schools Funding Commitment
Greg Hands, Chelsea & Fulhams Conservative Parliamentary
Candidate, has welcomed the Conservative Partys manifesto
commitment on schools funding.

Theresa May has made the following commitment in the Conservative

Partys General Election Manifesto: We will increase the overall
schools budget by 4 billion by 2022, representing more than a real
terms increase for every year of the parliament [and] we will make
sure that no school has its budget cut as a result of the new formula.

In spite of a long campaign of scaremongering from Labour-backed

groups, the Conservatives in Government have protected the core
schools budget in real terms since 2010. The current funding system,
however, was introduced more than ten years ago, and the
Conservatives are committed to making school funding fairer by
providing schools with the funding that they actually need now.

Some parents and teachers from Chelsea & Fulham wrote to Greg
Hands, their Conservative Parliamentary Candidate, before the
General Election to express their concerns that their schools might
lose funding. Greg represented their concerns to the Department for
Education as part of its consultation on the proposed Schools National
Funding Formula. Greg received a helpful response from the
Department, and he is now grateful for the Conservative Partys
manifesto commitment.

But, as important as funding, are school standards and attainment.

Nine out of ten schools across England are now rated good or
outstanding by Ofsted. Locally, there has been significant investment
in new primary, and particularly secondary schools. Since the
Conservatives came to power in 2010, in our two boroughs FIVE new
secondary schools have opened: the West London Free School, the
Fulham Boys School (where I am a patron), the Chelsea Academy, the
Hammersmith Academy and the Kensington Aldridge Academy.

The Conservatives can be proud of our reforms to education

including free schools and academies here in Chelsea & Fulham, as
well as a rigorous curriculum which are giving millions of children a
better start in life than they could have expected a decade ago. The
Conservatives seek to strengthen the teaching of literacy and
numeracy in the early years, so that all pupils may have the best
possible start in life.

Commenting on the Conservatives ongoing commitment to education,

Greg Hands said: I am really pleased that the Conservative manifesto
has made the commitment to school funding, with an extra 4billion by
2022, and with no school having its budget cut as a result of the new
funding formula.

We can be proud of our reforms to education including free schools

and academies here in Chelsea & Fulham, as well as a rigorous
curriculum which are giving millions of children a better start in life
than they could have expected a decade ago. Under Theresa May, our
education system will go from strength to strength.

Theresa May makes Manifesto

Commitment on adult social care
The Prime Minister, Theresa May, has confirmed further details
on the Conservatives long-term plan for elderly care.

Speaking at the launch of the Partys Welsh Manifesto, the Prime

Minister said: My manifesto is honest and upfront about our
challenges. It includes plans to strengthen the social care system with
more and sustainable funding to cope with the long-term pressures
caused by the fact that we are an ageing society.

Jeremy Corbyn wants to duck this reality and play politics.

But there will be two million more people over 75 years old in Britain
over the next decade alone. Our social care system will collapse
unless we make some important decisions now about how we fund it.

That is why we have to act. And it is why to give people security

we included in our plans measures to make sure nobody has to sell
the family home to pay for care.

And we also said that we would protect 100,000 of your savings so,
however expensive your care, you can pass something on to your
family.

"Lets be clear. This plan replaces the existing system where people
often get poor quality care and stand to lose almost all their savings
and assets, including the family home. This plan addresses the worry
people have when they have a loved one with a long-term condition,
and they dont know how theyre going to afford to care for them.

So these are good and sensible plans. They provide the beginning of
a solution to social care without increasing taxes on younger
generations. And, I should say, we are the only party in this election
prepared to face up to the reality of our ageing society and offer a
long-term solution.

But since my manifesto was published, the proposals have been

subject to fake claims made by Jeremy Corbyn. The only things he
has left to offer in this campaign are fake claims, fear and
scaremongering.

So I want to make a further point clear. This manifesto says that we

will come forward with a consultation paper, a government green
paper. And that consultation will include an absolute limit on the
amount people have to pay for their care costs.

So let me reiterate. We are proposing the right funding model for

social care. We will make sure nobody has to sell their family home to
pay for care. We will make sure theres an absolute limit on what
people need to pay. And you will never have to go below 100,000 of
your savings, so you will always have something to pass on to your
family.

And what is Jeremy Corbyns plan? He promises a nonsensical,

fantasy policy that can only be funded through massive tax rises on
younger generations. In fact, just recently he threatened to increase
the basic rate of income tax for millions of people from 20 to 25 per
cent to fund social care. That tells you everything you need to know
about Jeremy Corbyns answer to the problem.

The alternative is that he sticks to the status quo, which too often
provides poor care and leaves old and vulnerable people having to
sell their family homes.

This means that if Theresa May is re-elected as Prime Minister,

the Conservatives plan will include an absolute limit on the
amount people have to pay for care costs.

And here are some other points to keep on making about our
long-term plan for elderly care:

We will make sure nobody has to sell their family home to pay
for care.

You will never have to go below 100,000 of your assets, so
you will always have something to pass on to your family.

The poorest pensioners will continue to receive winter fuel
payments.

Compare that to Jeremy Corbyn who wants to drag 3.9 million

more homes, including half of all homes in London, into paying
inheritance tax. And hes also talked about raising the basic rate
of income tax to 25p to fund his ideas for elderly care.

Cadent Gas Main Replacement on Fulham

Road
Cadent Gas the new name for National Grid Gas Distribution is
continuing its gas main replacement work along Fulham Road.

This ongoing work entails replacing and upgrading the gas main from
15 Gunter Grove, along Fulham Road, past the Chelsea and
Westminster Hospital, to the junction with Beaufort Street. The work is
scheduled to take place from May to September 2017.

During certain periods of this work, the westbound lane of Fulham

Road will be closed between Beaufort Street and Gunter Grove.
Temporary traffic signals will also be in place. Fernshaw Road will be
closed until mid-July at the junction of Fulham Road, with access and
egress via the Kings Road with a signed diversion route along Edith
Grove and Gunter Grove.

As with the previous stage of the work on the Kings Road, Cadent
Gas is organising stakeholder engagement meetings with local
residents and businesses concerned about their work on Fulham
Road. These meetings are chaired by local Royal Borough of
Kensington & Chelsea Councillor, Kim Taylor-Smith, and are attended
by Transport for London officials.

Chelsea & Fulhams Conservative Parliamentary Candidate, Greg

Hands, has already represented the concerns of local residents,
businesses, and stakeholders to National Grid during the previous
stage of the work on the Kings Road. He assisted in mitigating the
impact from the works, and he sought clarification of National Grids
compensation scheme for local businesses.

Commenting on the gas main replacement, Greg Hands said: It is

reassuring to hear that meetings of the community liaison group for
this project are taking place. This is a big project, which is having an
ongoing impact on residents and businesses in both parts of my
constituency.

I hope that, working together, RBKC, TfL, Cadent, and local

stakeholders will be able to overcome any difficulties that this project
may present over the next six months.

The meeting followed Mr Hands visit to Mobile World Congress,

where the MP was first introduced to Giant iTab and gained insight into
the expertise and global opportunity UK event tech presents to British
growth. Mark and Mr Hands discussed Giant iTabs own international
expansion, and how this can be replicated by more UK event
technology companies. The business has already expanded into the
US, Middle East and Australasia, with further ambitions for
international growth.

The product is fantastic, its great, intuitive and easy to use for the
customer. Since we met at Mobile World Congress Ive found Giant
iTab fascinating, commented Greg Hands. The UK has an incredible
capability in events, and this is a great example of a company that is
enjoying rapid international growth. Were keen to support them
wherever we can.

The government has a specific agenda towards increasing UK export,

and event technology is an area they are very interested in following
#MWC17, commented Mark Jones, Giant iTab. Were delighted to be
