FUNDRAISING FOR THE

CHILDREN OF WEST UGANDA!
Grace Fox writes:
I am going to West Uganda on the 8th June to volunteer with my
university (Plymouth) to build a playground at a school for
disadvantaged children, most of whom have never seen a playground
before! I will be spending two of the three weeks that I am over there
building the playground, visiting other playgrounds to touch them up
and engaging with the children to help them with crafts and play. I am
really excited to do this opportunity, as I cant wait to build something
(although Im not good at DIY!), that will mean a lot to these children,
and to see their faces once it is completed. During the other week I will
be trekking over 15 miles to find the endangered silverback gorillas
and hopefully get a picture with them!
I have to raise quite a lot to before I go which goes to the charity, to buy
building supplies, pay the Ugandan workers and support the children, but I am
slowly reaching my target thanks to fundraising by doing street collections,
and donations from family and friends. I would be so thankful for any donations
so please email me at: grace.fox@hotmail.co.uk - where I would be happy
to discuss what Im doing with anyone, or visit my fundraising page at:
https://plymouthraggorilla2016.everydayhero.com/uk/grace-s-uganda-gorilla-trek
- which I know is rather a long website address!
Many thanks and please dont hesitate to get in touch!

NEW NURSERY ON KENTS LANE

As some of you may be aware, the existing nursery
building on Kents Lane (by the Memorial Hall) is due to be
replaced this summer. Works are planned to start on site
on 10th July and are estimated to take 7 weeks to
complete. There will naturally be some disturbance with
noise and traffic, but SCC and contractors Kier will be
making every effort to minimise this and to also keep you
informed as works proceed. One key date for your diary
is Tuesday 1st August, when the new building will be
craned into position. This will require some parking
restrictions along Kents Lane and works will start earlier
than normal on that day. Kiers site manager will be
informing residents nearer the time on details. We would
like to thank nearby residents in advance for their
cooperation and once works begin the site manager will
be in touch and can be contacted with any day to day
concerns.
