Chronological Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 25-27; John 13
Monday, June 5
Luke 8:13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy;
and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
Lord and Judge of My Soul:
Help me both examine myself and evaluate others in light of this verse. I
pray for people today who will receive my testimony with joy, have their feelings
stirred by the story of the gospel, and be impacted with the word of God. Yet for
them to receive the word in their ear is one thing, and to receive Jesus into their
soul is another. Help them to do this Lord! So many times I see superficial
feelings linked to hardness of heart. Cause a living expression of my witness to
them to make a lasting impression on them.
Having no inward moisture derived from root-nourishment, these have no root
and wither away. Let this not be true of memaking a fair show in the flesh
before others, but with no corresponding inner life. In order to bring new life to
others I have to first be revived myself! Give me growth upward, inward and
downward at the same time. Nourish meboth root and branchfor the sake
of those I seek to reach. Root me in faithfulness and love to Christ.
I pray for __________ and __________. Let not their heart remain
unsoftened or unwatered by grace. I want the good seed to grow after it
germinates. I want someone I can disciple this fall! So take away the rocky,
unbroken, and unsanctified heart. I do not desire rapid growth so much as I want
to have endurance. So help me let someone feel the power of the Holy Spirit in
becoming a disciple of Christ! If their mind remains obstinate they will be
scorched, and their hard heart will only reflect more heat on the seed I am
sowing. Therefore, O Heavenly Sower, plow me first, plant truth deep into
me, and let me yield fruit according to your grace in Christ Jesus. Amen.

He treasures up His bright designs and works His sovereign will.
Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take; the clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy and shall break in blessings on your head.
Judge not the Lord by feeble sense, but trust Him for His grace;

Tuesday, June 6
Matt. 26:33 Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended
because of thee, yet will I never be offended.
Holy Lord and Heavenly Father:
Here is one of Peters promises that came to nothing. I do the same thing
so many times. I told you and said what I was sure I could do, then I miserably
failed. When my words have no better foundation than my own willpower they
always fail, usually at the first sign of temptation. Teach me through this
experience to rely on your grace and the strength of your Spirit.
What is my word, anyway? Just an earthen vessel broken in a blow. My best
resolutions are like blossoms. They might (with Gods care) bear some fruit, but
left alone they fall to the ground after the first drought, and in the first breeze.
On my word I can only hang what it will bear, and on my own willpower I
cannot depend at all. But on the promises of God I can hang both the universe
and eternity. I can hang challenges in this world and changes in the next! I can
hang my all, and the all of everyone I love and who also serves you.
Rom. 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to
will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
If Bible promises are like a checkbook, then Matthew 26:33 is meant as a
warning. I have to be careful into what bank I make my deposits, and what bank
I draw on. Whose signature will I accept today? Help me rely on yours without
limit, and not trust myself beyond proper bounds.
I want to trust only and wholly in you today, and thereby learn from this
incident in the life of Christ. I do not want to just talk about it; I want to be
about it! I ask this in Jesus precious and powerful name, so he can be glorified in
me and through me. Amen.
FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY
Chronological Bible Reading: Ezra 1-3; John 17
Friday, June 9
Deut. 33:13 And of Joseph he said, Blessed of the LORD be his land, for the
precious things of heaven, for the dew, and for the deep that coucheth beneath,
Great and Glorious Heavenly Father:
Make us rich in the things Joseph gained, and let us have them in even a
higher sense than he had them. Give us the precious things of heaven as we fulfill your
Eternal Purpose.
Give us power with God, and the manifestation of that power. Let
us enjoy the peace of God, the joy of the Lord, and the glory of Christ.
Give us fellowship with you in love and grace. Give us hope amidst trials,
and faith at the very bottom of valleys. That is most fine gold indeed! The
things of earth are nothing compared to the precious things of heaven.
Give us the dew this weekend, because it is a sign of revival and an
ingredient for growth. It is the perfume of nature. What life is evident when
the dew is abundant! As a plant of the Lords own garden, anoint us with
this dew of His Holy Spirit, for that is part of the precious things of heaven!
And we need the deep that coucheth beneath. We need that unseen
ocean of grace underneath every event, activity and plan! We need the
backdrop of mercy. That is what supplies all the fresh springs of strength
for today and bright hope for tomorrow. Let us tap the eternal fountains of
grace, because we cannot rest until we see it behind every circumstance.
Things improbable in practice are possible to providence.
James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but
giveth grace unto the humble.
Since the all-sufficiency of God is ours forever, we claim it and resort to it
now in Jesus own matchless name. Amen.

Wednesday, June 7
Isa. 51:5 My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall
judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust.
Glorious Lord:
Summer time should be revival time for me and the entire church. Today
I commit myself to engaging those who are lost; to seeking your face in revival,
seeing by faith that
1 Cor. 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always
abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the
Lord.
Heb. 6:10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye
have showed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
After I renew my strength in revival, then I can fulfill your plan with the
word of God. I can witness to the lost and disciple believers. I thank you Lord,
the condition under which I ask for revival is not one of distance from you but
nearness to you. Holy Spirit, draw me near even now, because I am covered from
head to foot at this moment with the spotless righteousness of Jesus Christ! How
could I be nearer to God than Jesus is? I want to come near in my personal
prayer today, because I recognize my closeness in Christ. Holy Spirit, help me
come near because I am near, and stand where my sonship places me!
Rom. 8:15-16 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye
have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth
witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
Let me speak in your ear: bring us revival as we ask! I thank you I am not
trying to wrestle a blessing from an unwilling hand. You stand ready to give me
everything Christ has earned for me. Make it so by your grace, then. Amen.

Saturday, June 10
Psa. 29:11 The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his
people with peace.
Jesus Mighty God:
The mountain of my sin jumped into your grave, and is buried in the Red
Sea of your own blood. Consume all my corruptions, and kindle a flame of ever-
increasing love and holiness. The hurricanes of life only prove the power
promised from you. Why am I weak when I have your strength at hand? Why am
I troubled when your peace is mine? Let me sing during the thunderstorm,
Psa. 30:1 I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made
my foes to rejoice over me.
The Devil and all my spiritual enemies are not allowed to win over me. I
give all the glory to you, Lord! I was brought from the brink so I could tell about
Gods patience with me. Nothing but grace keeps me out of the lowest hell.
Grace drew me out of the ditch of sin. Because I love my Deliverer I
should offer a song. You lifted me to the heights of the family of God, so now I
sit in union with Christ in heavenly places (Eph. 1:3). I should lift-up your name
just as high!
Psa. 30:4 Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the
remembrance of his holiness.
I cannot praise you enough unless I unite with the hearts and voices of
others. We are set-apart on purpose: to offer the daily sacrifice of praise. Help me
abound in that heavenly duty, for I am all too often critical. Let my songs express
thankfulness, so your mercies can live again in joyful remembrance. Past mercies
can tune my hearts harp when present joys are lacking. Let the joy of the Lord
chase out intruding sorrow, for Jesus deserves my praise TODAY. Amen.

HOW TO BUILD A BALANCED LIFE
1) TIMEWORSHIP
Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and
departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is
to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily
devotions.
2) TITHEWORK
1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God
hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions
asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.
3) TEAMWORD
Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.
QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS
Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God)
Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of
walking with us)
Basing beliefs and actions on the mind of Christ (your church relationship in
the Word)

PROMPT PETITIONS KICKSTART DEVOTION
INSTRUCTIONS:
Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
