Great work Hills, for helping Pam bake bread !

Missionary Ventures long term field workers in Lombok, Rich and Pam Moberly, help coordinate Hills teams activities
at both Beithel and Patmos Children’s Homes. Rich and Pam also run a home church for missionaries located in
Lombok and continue to provided guidance and support for other field workers. Last month our church took up a special
missions offering to assist Pam in purchasing bread making equipment to help train locals in bread making.
Proclamation of the gospel is, by and large, illegal in Lombok (exceptions occur in registered churches), and all caught
evangelising are subject to prosecution and imprisonment. Therefore, ministry is mostly relational, and Pam’s bread
making venture is great way to form relationships and spread the gospel of Jesus!

Now Rich needs our prayer support!

Last week Rich Moberly contracted his third bout of Dengue fever. Dengue fever is a severe illness transmitted by
mosquitoes; it is extremely debilitating and may result in death. Praise God Rich is starting to recover.

Please pray that his recovery is complete and for God’s protection. Please also pray that all residual effects of the virus
will be removed from his body and that God will restore him, both physically and emotionally.

Update from Beithel Children’s Home, Bali

Discipleship training for a youth leadership team at Beithel will commence on 21/6/2010. Discipleship training
involves taking selected youth from Beithel for ten days of intensive training to the nearby island of Lombok. The
object of the discipleship program is to instruct and grow these future leaders in their relationship with Christ and with
one another. It is hoped that these young adults then become role models and mentors in the Beithel Children’s Home
community.

The program is facilitated by Missionary Ventures Australia who have field workers in both Bali and Lombok.
Discipleship training provides a firm foundation for the ever changing number of children at Beithel. Every year
Beithel will have a substantial turn around of children, some will be leaving to go out into the world and others will be
coming in from families unable to pay for their children’s education.

Since its inception four years ago, this year will be the first year that HCLC is not involved in sponsoring, training
and assisting in this project. It is hoped that next year we can resume our involvement in this worthwhile program

Last year a similar discipleship program was started at Patmos Children’s Home (Lombok) and was run by HCLC
(Clint and John).
