Mid-Semester Reflection

This second year at Weaver has been so much fun! It makes me sad to think that we are

already three quarters of the way through.. Being at Weaver has made myself have to open up

and be more confident not only in dance, education, but also in choreography. The friends I have

made are more than just friends, they are like my sisters, especially the sophomores. Being in

choreography with them has made us grow even closer. I have really enjoyed getting to know the

freshman even though some of them are leaving.. but that's not my business.

Some of my goals were,

Improvisation

Being in choreography has helped with this goal because of having to come up with

choreography on the spot with our movement studies and now our dances. Plus, in ballet we have

been coming up with combinations for our dances which helps with variety.

Strength

The circle of death and planks has helped tremendously. Like I said last semester, I can

feel my core and some upper body strength building which is what I need.

Musicality

With our group dance this semester, it is a jazzy ballet piece that changes music. I am not

a very balletic person so finding musicality is very hard for me in ballet. With this dance, since it

is jazzy it is a little bit easier for me to find and I really enjoy it.

I feel much stronger in all of my goals and I can not wait for the rest of the semester and

the concert!
